Description Steps:

- sketch a squished circle. Round circles are hard enough to draw so just sketch it out until you can make out a nice defining outline that you can work with.
- Draw a curved line down where you plan to put the face. This line is really helpful when it comes to drawing faces at tricky angles. Use that line to sketch out the jawline. If it looks like the outline of a face, then you're onto something.
- Draw the eye lines. Two lines will make up a space that splits the area from skull top to chin in half. The eyes belong in this space. Depending on the angle of the face, the lines will tilt in accordance with the direction the skull in pointing.
- Figure out where the facial feature belong. This will vary as all faces are generally different.
- Sketch out the facial features and the placing of the ear. The ear will be lined up parallel to the eye lines from the nose to the mid eyeline.
- Sketch out the details in the ear and add hair.
- Details and shading are dependent on where the light source is coming from. Make sure to take in ab-structures like the nose and add shadows accordingly.
- Don't be afraid to add more depth to shading. Starting off, my problem with shading was always that I was too scared to add contrasting shadows. I still struggle.
- Sketch the position of the neck and shoulders. This doesn't necessarily have to be done after drawing details on the face.
- Shade any new lines added to give it the 3 dimensional appearance.
- Add any additional depth needed and finish the sketch up by adding complexion details like freckles.
