This mine looks incredible!
Is it inspired by the dwarven architecture from The Battle of Middle-earth? [link]

Seems you and the game creators were inspired by the same spirit of dwarvness.
I don't know if you use it with that LotR table top game, but this masterpiece would definitely fit in 100%!
(Btw., it's Battle *for* Middle-earth - shame on me!)

I had to think back, but now I remember where I found the original idea. Someone had rendered this in Google Sketchup, and I copied the design. In the description they did mention the game, but I was not familiar with it.
I had always assumed that it was a variation of the columns in the mines of Moria depicted in the movie. They were originally drawn by Alan Lee, so we have Alan to thank for the original design.
The actual model is owned by a client. I never got to play with it. Durn it.

Some of the stone work is created using paper mache. It dries very hard, and is very durable. Other parts are cast in resin, and others pieces I cut from foam, and then coated with paper mache.
I did make it all by hand.
