Description Drawing 100 Things I Love in Comics #2: Warren Horror Comics

After a panel in the story "Vampires Fly at Dusk" (Creepy 1) by Reed Crandall

On the 100 Things series: I have always loved drawing and creating art, but work, family, and a million other things over the last couple of decades have seen me almost completely give up on it. To fix this situation, I decided to go back to the earliest roots of my interest in drawing: comic book art. To reactivate my old skills and develop new ones, I have decided to do a series of 100 drawings in which I recreate panels, pages, and pinups from 100 of my favorite things in comics. I love a billion things about comics, but this series is about drawing, so it focuses mostly on the artwork. My interest in comics is wide and deep, so there will be entries from throughout the almost century-old history of comic books as we know them and from a variety of national and linguistic backgrounds. Still, the list also reflects my personal tastes, meaning that horror and crime comics are well-represented, while superhero stuff is relatively sparse.

I made the list (which was very easy: I could get another couple hundred down without having to think about it too hard), then randomized it using a random number generator. I started the series working in pencil on physical paper, but I got a drawing tablet partway along and am finishing the earlier pieces digitally and doing all future entries on the tablet.
