There's been a lot of Vector portrait type things loitering on DA so I thought I'd join in
...and yes - I am a child of the 80s
Illustrator CS using a lot of shape blends.
It does need to be viewed full sized to appreciate it. SO DO IT!!!

Making things tricky for me now?

Wow it looks like a poster, why not make it a print?

I wasn't sure of the print rules as I illustrated it using someone's dA stock as ref - so I didn't, just in case I was breaking any rules.
I still haven't found out the rules when you've used someone else's stock in your submissions.
(But it's something that I'm planning on having on my wall!)

I've recently moved into a brand new flat and I've not put anything up on the walls yet!

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH the eighties, my era, wish I could go back in time, what a decade of true musicians, maybe a lot of one hit wonders but they rocked, nice vector nice and sharp, love the colours,

What tool for the shine in the lips?

Actually it was EFFECT > STYLIZE > SCRIBBLE...

I either used the pencil tool or a made the basic shape that I wanted the shine to be in and used the 'scribble' or 'squiggle' filter in Illustrator (It's called one or the other 
I can't confirm which one I actually used right now by opening the file as I'm off to bed. night
