There a whole onset of reasons why I dislike his character; I mainly exadurate it to be playful.
I just found him irritating, and I never really did like him. Mercy is great and all, but in war, things need to get done. You can't just rely on forgiveness and kindness when your enemies will take advantage of it. He wasn't very well-rounded (there were many characters like that), and I didn't feel connected with him at all. He seemed too nice and too pure. Even the nicest kid can act selfish and bratty at times. he just wasn't a very believeable character to me.

Weed has many traits in common with his father who was the same. He did not like having to kill other dogs and we never see him do it. By your logic it would mean that characters like Shirou Emiya and Edward Elric are the same and they don't like killing and prefer to let go.

I'm not saying that characters that show mercy are not good characters, but it has to be balanced out with other traits and the character has to be believable. In my opinion, and it's just my opinion, Weed just wasn't a well-balanced character.

It is all a matter of of perspective, I suppose. Aang from Avatar is a lot like Weed too.

Aang was a 12 year child that had to embrace his role as the Avatar, where previously he had run away from his responsibility. On top of that, he needed to end a war that had taken place for a hundred years, as well as become the hero that everyone expected him to be. He evolved from a child who didn't take the problem seriously, to a damn world leader, and a pretty good one at that.
Weed had control of an army because his dad had to get captured by the enemy. He was born with exactly the same traits as he did when the story ended. The most his development endured was removing Jerome from the group, and that wasn't even done well. Instead of more characters questioning Weed's judgement, they went along blindly with "Oh, he's the leader so what he says is best." Of course Kyoshiro was rebellious, but that's a whole other two pager argument that I won't get into. Anyways, Weed is a prime example of a Gary Stu. Most fans don't like him, as he's had many great characters in his own gene pool that have more likeability.
Aang is not like Weed.

Exactly; people will have different perspectives. I like Aang, because he was a round, well-developed character whom we watch grow and goes through believable changes.Β
Also, Aang's role in life and Weed's role in life are very different.
I just don't like Weed very much as a character.
