Description
Thought experiment on what anime might look like if H. sapiens lost out and Neanderthals took over. In reality, anime has always stylized characters as being even more neotenous than real-life people (proportionally big head, child-like limbs and body, large eyes, etc) which one could argue is more or less the trend humans have been following in our evolution from the chimp-human split. Of course there's lots of things I'm not taking into account for speculative evolution of our extinct cousins such as any evolutionary trends they would take after the last ice age ended (modern humans originally were barel-chested but today have somewhat flatter rib cages front to back) and assuming blue eyes would even show up in the parallel future's Neanderthal genome. Still, I had fun making a short and thick Honoka with a taller face and lower cranium. Might do this with a lithe male character like Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach.
