My entry for a contest held by . Because I do enough of them as is. XD

His contests involves drawing a scene from one of his upcoming comics, which involve the "Super Mario Trio" - his Mario FCs - Emily, Elizabeth and Luis. I've been meaning to draw something involving them for goodness knows how long, so this was the perfect excuse.

This scene is based off "Parental Pursuit". When Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach are kidnapped by Bowser's minions, their children head off on a quest to save them. So....I suppose I should explain the scene.

After goodness knows how long, the three kids have arrived at one of Bowser's castles. Deciding to lay low and plan their attack, Luis finds himself having drawn the short straw and to have a peek to see what they're up against. What he sees are Goombas wearing special hats and collars, all of which are spiked. Of course, any adventurous plumber will tell you that it'd be impossible to jump on, or kick, goombas in this state, as Elizabeth clarifies using the handy dandy Koopa-Troop guide she bought along with her. After a few moments pondering, however, Emily has an idea. It's a little risky, but it just might work.....

In an attempt not to "ruin" the rest of the picture, I coloured in only the characters and put a little extra penciled details in for the background. It's a popular tactic of mine.

Anyway, I hope you like it.
