I know I'm not the best person to give criticism (Look at my art m8) but I think you could fill in the gaps of white between the colors and to make the head of the characters more round instead of a peak at the front and a downward slope.
(This is not meant to offend you, this is intended to be criticism of you're art.)

No no, it's OK. No offence taken. 
I honestly don't know why gaps appear anyway, TBH. I do try to colour every little bit, but somehow stuff comes through....and my scanner doesn't entirely help matters.
