Author's Notes:
**************************************************************
This is a small project I have started some time ago in hopes of, someday, learning how to properly draw and being able to create more personalized drawings.
Simply put, each other day I will be doing one small sketch of a pony, and posting it in a journal entry.

I've also decided to upload the complete sketches (I will exclude the rough ones) in batches of 15.
This should be useful as a sort of comparison tool (and give something to those that do not wish to follow the daily journals)

Enjoy the ride. I know I am.

Amazing progress indeed. Day 1-3 and last drawings are pretty much incomparable.

Progress in shading is just awesome!!!
Not so much in proportions, but this is due to the fact, that since Your fourth drawing - Rarity, Your ponies were already quite proportional
What actually changes is positioning with is more... elastic in Your arts now, than it was earlier

And my favorite picture out of this bunch - Nightmare Rarity (or however she's called )

Heh. "elastic". All I could think of was yoga ponies

My shading technique is still so horrible. ;_;

I really need to read some tutorials or ask someone for tips. I'm basically just winging it at this point.

Yeah I'm not surprised, she is basically a carbon reproduction of the comic's image. And I had an example of shading with her, so It looks much more natural then my normal stuff.

Glad you're enjoying them

No it's not!
Seriously... for me... there are the rules... and You can follow the rules etc... but if something looks good it desn't matter if it's 100% accurate or not, and Your shading just looks right, so

Maybe... but You still had to do it Yourself... and sometimes copying something is more difficult, than doing something original

Totally is ;_;

Thing is I'm not sure I trust myself enough to know if something looks good. I guess I will eventually learn what shades a specific light source would project on a character, but probably not so soon.

That 's true, because it never turns out anywhere close!
