Description It is finally done! My chorus girl - painting 1 in the moulin rouge series
PLEASE FULL VIEW, I painted so many details, thanks
14 hours of solid painting, mostly pixel 3 and details in pixel 1.
For the lace I borrowed the brushes of Obsidian Dawn, merely took elements and made lacy effects myself.
All the rest came from me though I did quite a lot of research for the feathers, the mask etc...
I feel this painting went well, it was nice to paint lots of light, I hope it is correct.

I dedicate this painting to who is one of my favorite manip artists, so original and full of taste and restraint in colours and subject, never shunning the odd touch of humour too. And a really nice lady too.
Thanks Madeleine, I promised you a painting and here it is!
I hope you like it!

I will continue in this series, I have found some great reference pics that will go nicely with the subject, so more dedications to great artists are programmed in the future, stay tuned, the crayon loves you.

Thanks for favs, comments and new watches, I will do my best to honour them

May I present you Cynthia - surname the purple angel,

She is 26 years old and French, born in Paris.
Her heart has recently been broken but when she is on the scene, under the heat of the spotlights she can forget her pain for a few hours.
When Cynthia appears on the scene, a huge hush descends on the audience, you could hear a feather drop on the floor, so impressed is Paris with the vulnerable yet sensual Cynthia. Men admire her but find her rather daunting and don't approach her lightly.

Thank you for this comment.

I agree with what you wrote.

The reference is not the movie, but the setting, I wanted to paint a series of chorus girls and would all have called the moulin rouge.

I know the background is not much of a background but I was just happy to have at least painted the girl right!
I am in a learning process I cannot paint all I would like to paint, it has the merit of being created from scratch pixel after pixel.

And often in pin-up art there is no background at all.

For the shadows, I will attention to those in the future. Thanks for the great advice.

I prefer not to correct the older works and so notice my evolution.

Thank you for taking an interest.

No problem and sorry for the long waiting time...

ThatΒ΄s the reason why I donΒ΄t like PinUps, they are too simple. But thatΒ΄s only my thought, I always have to have a background with a story. IΒ΄m a background-freak

And because of your learning process, I donΒ΄t think that darker or harder shadows will be a problem for you when you paint anything else correct which is much more difficult!

I would be a background freak in the making then !!! lol
Background is so hard, the perspective has to be right etc... and I only just learned to paint a simple figure so bear with me, give me some time lol
I will think about your hard shadow advice in the next painting, I don't remember if you are wachting me, but if you are, you will see the results, feel free to comment, I am not scared of the rather harch comments, I have a few friends here who work that way with me and their advice has helped me improve quite a lot.
So see you around to save this girl's A** again some other time, thanks

Ah, thatΒ΄s nonsense. You donΒ΄t have to become a good painter, you ARE a good painter. Your images are really amazing but in my opinion you only do the Β΄hardΒ΄ things like the faces and the figures and then you break off or make the rest not so good as you could. I know you can do it better, but like I said, thatΒ΄s only my opinion.
When we always do what we can, weΒ΄ll continuance in our position...

Yes, I watch you. IΒ΄m curious of new work from you

What I love most about this piece is the facial expression. It's the first thing that jumped out at me the moment I brought this into full-view. The look on her face is almost orgasmic. This is probably one of the most beautiful faces you've painted yet.

Something doesn't seem quite right with the arm that is holding the mask. It seems just a tad off, maybe it's the lighting or the shading, or maybe it's just me. The edges of both arms though look a little rough against the background through, some lines just look to jagged and stand-out a bit.

The outfit she is wearing as well as the mask are incredibly detailed and beautifully painted. The details of the mask and the way the light reflects off of it is beautiful.

Overall this is a very high-quality and amazingly lovely piece to look at, there are just a few slight details that just seem the slightest bit off, but none of those take anything away from this piece at all. It is gorgeous!

thank you, as always you are totally right!
I feared a bit of problems with the mask arm, in the reference pic it was a bit unclear and I feared I might not be able to make it work!
But what I can do is work again on those jagged arm lines, that is a bit of sloppy work and thanks for pointing it out, I am a perfectionist but after 14 hours of solid painting you can no longer see clear lol
My son, my digital genius of a son, would scold me as well for leaving sloppy lines!
Thanks and fine to have you here, I hope we will have lots of these constructive conversations in the future.
Greetz from the crayon
PS. I am so ashtonished that most people point out they like her expression, never would have thought to be able to put expression in a face with the eyes closed, I am proud of this! If there is a sexual connotation, it was not done on purpose, let's call it extasy!

Ecstasy is perhaps a better word, lets go with that.

I always enjoy leaving critiques on your work because I can tell that you truly value them, and based on the information within them, occasionally go back to revise your work a bit to make it better. Your positive attitude and ability to accept constructive criticism really exemplify the reason this feature was implemented in the first place.

well as I am self thaught I make the most of this but don't get me wrong the positive receptiveness of the critique by me is in direct relation with the mature attitude and justice of the critic. So we are a good team and I like to learn.
I analyze these remarks and I have to say that I am not technically skilled enough to correct all of them, I may see that you are right in some respects but be unable to correct it as with the arm, it will have to stay as it is due to my being unable to do better (at this point lol)
The sloppy lines are unforgivable at this point, will rework them this evening, that at least I am able to do!
So thanks and hope to see you soon because when the next is coming up, I will signal you if I may!
