That is pretty much the case there. I don't think the guy knows what he has gotten himself into since his new girlfriend is going a little too forward(which is kind of underestimating my statement).
Hopefully this will teach him not to use mind control ever again! Heck I would not be foolish enough to use that sort of power if I don't have good control over a person, nor do I have a desire to do that since I am a christian and God would strike me down for tempering with a person's life.
But if I did have a good best friend and have trouble getting a girlfriend, I could change him to a girl to have a girlfriend which will still take time without using any mind manipulation.

PS, I think now that he knows theres an evil essence and the ring won't do 'good' deeds without perverting their original desire he'll try thinking more than just going out and using the rings power.
IE, if he wants to use the ring under his control he has to use its more for an evil desire, not a positive desire (Such as curing his girlfriend)

Hmm...makes alot of since why the ring is backfiring on him since it is a ring of evil and not the ring of good. But I don't see him using the ring for evil desire like the other guy who has the ring of good who uses for evil desires, but never really acomplishes much because his right is to be used for good, not evil. So the one with the ring of good TGing a guy to girl would backfire on him and the new girl would regain her own senses even though He/She could stay a girl forever, she would have free will. Just and interesting idea to how the evil guy's ring works. But to the one with the ring of evil, be is just too much of a soft-hearted guy who's mistake of selfishmess of winning a girlfriend backfired on him.
The only way either of them will acomphise anything(Not that I want evil to win) is if the 2 guys exchanged the rings to make their desires work better, even though the ring of good would not aloud the good guy Mind control anyone anymore since if can't do any evil things for anyone.
Here is another way that guy with the evil ring can earn a girlfriend, it is sort of weird, but it would be up to your department. The good guy could use the evil ring(or the Good ring if the exchange happens) and make one of his male friends or some male to a female. It could work, or could create more problem, personally I hope it would work so they can still be friends and become friends and be boyfriend and girlfriend with their misadventures.
Man, I must be loading you with alot of good ideas for your comic series. I hope you may consider some of them. I guess that what I get for being such a very imagitive person with good story writing skills.

Well considering Douglases view point on what is considered good he gets quite a bit of leeway with his ring. However Alex doesn't have much of a lee way because his morals have decided what is actually evil and is defining itself that way.
AS such for Alex to really win constantly he will have to figure out how to manipulate his own moral judgement to get the effects he wants.

He should be able to get his girl friend back to almost normal and oppose Douglass with out much problem. As getting her back to normal except for her loyalty being to him above all else (even to the point she would be willing to commit horrible murders or kill her self) is a selfish evil thing. Oppsing Douglass is a little harder since opposing a evil person is a good thing, on the other hand since Douglass is the Champion of good stopping is reason Alex has his ring of power so as long as Alex dose it in a mean way and with vengance on his mind he should be able to pull it off.
