this totally freaked me out when i saw it. its like a scene straight from a zombie movie when you're like so tense you can't even breathe. or at least, thats how it is for me..
and the wedding picture in the background is a very nice touch; it brings everything together and adds to the story being told. you are a very talented artist

that is a beautiful image. there's so little happening but it says so much. the attention to detail is amazing because you've gone as far as to place in the reflection of a bookshelf in the photograph. just...wow...wow...that's a favourite. no doubt. i added it a while ago but i'm looking at it again and still loving it. it's like...is he dead, and has made a return cause he loves her so much and can't be without her even in the after life...or is he alive, and the reason for all her pain. maybe the way we see him isn't how he actually looks, but how she now views him...maybe the marriage hasn't gone the way she planned at all and now she feels...trapped and haunted by that one mistake she made, which is possibly why the image of their marriage hangs over her head like that. a constant burdon.

I have always been terrible at understanding the artist's intent so I hope that my thoughts aren't too far from what you were trying to express. What I like most about this piece is the subtlety of the shadows, the slight grimace on the woman's face as if she's suffering from some internal pain, her slightly curved fingers as if she's digging into the wood of the table to release some of her pain, and the way the man has a hold of her in the photograph on the wall. I can't say I fully understand the characters or their thoughts and I am sure that what I see is not really there at all. However, that's just what I saw and felt when I first saw this.
I really love the details and how realistic the situation feels. It reminds me of the book 'Rose Madder' by Stephen King.

From a distance I could see something was wrong but was still eh it could be just me. And even up close the scene is so... serene until you look at the husband. Maybe it was just me but the pictures seemed so calm that you didn't want to be the case. But it was and it strikes fear. The supposedly loving wife's fate seems obvious to be killed by her undead husband. I think anyone with a sense of humanity gets a pang of heart break for the woman. Strong but short, non the less.
Something so so just eerie.
