i know i'm a bit late... but i'm new and was just admiring what you're done. cool. How do you do it? Is it purely generated from a 3D prog?

no probs.
The terrain is generated using Terragen, the clouds etc were added in using Photoshop

Nice overhangs man. I am actually working on a overhang piece as well. Nice work on the coloring and the beach. Keep it up.

the sky is really cool but the overhang is overdone

The over hang and the way that it goes off into the background is so deliciously alien it really makes the whole feel to the image.

beautiful surface and water.. the overhang is awsome but the surface on the rocks could be more "texturized"

hey there! now that I've seen the tutorial I can spot a few drawbacks in the technique, like the distorted reflections in the water, but since there's nothing you can do about that, I won't call that a criticism of the peice... but I can see how you might feel that you've reached the limit of what you can do with overhangs for the moment...
still, a very nice technique to have under your belt! I can see a number of places you could use this effect to great advantage in collaborative and composite peices!

thanks, there is another technique i've seen used. ~Swaroop made these: [link] [link] which is another way to go about it...

It's very pretty I like the angle both of the cliffs and the spectacular sky. You did quite a job with this one, Monkey. The clarity is quite inviting as well. So now that all is said and done... I want real food.
