Short Bio
Down-to-earth and laid back, Forest March could best be described as a literal happy camper. It's no lie that he's most at home in nature, to the point that he apparently has an ability to communicate with it. He's been known to have a sweet and humble charm to him that makes him a favorite of his scoutmasters over the years, though he does have a rough edge that is necessary to have when he's out in the wild.

As a foal, he was huge fan of dirt and food. He could be digging in the yard one minute, playing with bugs with surprising gentleness and building homes out of dirt for them, and then raiding the fridge the next, proving himself unlike other colts by not being a picky eater--if it's food, he'll eat it, and he's practically a bottomless pit. He could make the biggest mess in the house, all while still holding his innocent smile and blinking those big blue eyes of his. Though, as his parents found out, he could be quite the fighter when so prompted, such as trying to keep himself out of the bathtub when Mom or Dad is trying to throw him in. He's never been keen on sprucing up, ever.

Being a lover of animals, he's had plenty of animal toys and pets over the years. He's often had to keep the dog, Buster, out of his room so that his toys aren't chewed or his goldfish, hermit crab, rabbit, hamster, or whatever other animal he had at the time didn't get killed. However, usually his pets' deaths are caused by his younger siblings' (usually Ketchup's) carelessness. Or, in one case, his cousin Berry Blast practicing a magic trick and causing an explosion instead. And Curly Kale often does not help matters by trying to be funny in an attempt at cheering him up. He's held grudges for a week because of this, though his father often secretly monitors him so he doesn't run away.

His main way to socialize is through Colt Scouts, which he greatly adores. He relishes every opportunity to go to meetings and camps, and playing with his friends and learning from his scoutmasters. Earning merit badges gives him a sense of accomplishment (especially since he feels like he's not good enough in school compared to Cucumber Melon), and when he's in nature, he feels much more alive than he does in the city he lives in. When he got lost in the forest, a combination of using the outdoor skills he learned and making friends with critters helped him survive three days on his own, and by the time he was finally found, he had earned his cutie mark. He was a little disappointed that he had to go back to civilization.

He's pretty close with his mother and younger sister Marigold, who appreciate nature almost as much as he does. Though he and Berry Blast are opposites, they have a strange friendship. Forest may be a day younger than Berry, but he's still the more responsible colt to Berry's hyperactive, mischievous nature. Still, they did like to play imagination games together as colts, and were sometimes joined by siblings. Forest also gets along with Rocky Road (Berry's older brother), and Uncle Cheese (Berry's father), since he could talk about roughin' it with them. However, when he grew his beard, just about every member of both his immediate and extended family (which is a lot of ponies) liked to poke fun at it, and they haven't let up on it.

As a teenager, he earns the rank of Phoenix Scout (akin to real life Eagle Scout), and as an adult, he joins the Equestrian Society for the Preservation of Rare Creatures. Dedicating to preserving nature in any way he can, he becomes a ranger for one of Equestria's largest nature parks, and protects the flora, fauna, and the visitors to the park, as well as fixes every broken sign and patches up the roofs of the huts.

In his down time, he strums his guitar for a little fun, or uses his practical skills to help out his family or his neighbors. Though he's inherited his father's tall and thin frame, he's managed to put some muscle on himself, so he's rather strong. He often makes the mares swoon.
