Since it's Mother's Day tomorrow, I figured that I oughta put this piece up.

So, Flora has just barely given birth and is greeting her firstborn daughter, who she and her husband Tomato decide to name Bell Pepper. Fiddling with Bell's tiny hooves, Flora's emotions run from relief over the foaling process being over to joy in finally meeting her foal to amazement that she made the new life she's holding to "Okay what do I do with this thing in my forelegs?"

Also, the nurses keep remarking that the baby doesn't look anything like her mother, to which Flora points to her husband. She's going to get a lot of that while Bell's growing up, especially when Tomato's not around for her to point to in order to say, "That's where she gets her colors from, okay?" Pretty much the only one who finds some resemblance between Flora and Bell is Flora's own mother, Honeysuckle, who points out that Bell has Flora's face and is kind of stocky (which doesn't become obvious until Bell's all grown up). At least Bell's siblings have more obvious traits that they inherited from Flora.

Nevertheless, Flora still loves her tiny newborn filly, and is willing to go through the ups and downs of raising her to marehood. Flora will be a great mom, and Bell's blessed to have her in her life.
