i entered this in a poster making contest during our foundation day and the theme is "Mapua for Philippine Global Competitiveness" or something like that, I forgot already.T^Ti didn't win. it's okay, i know it sucks.xD but what i hate is that the winners' sucked more.> < and they got money.
i used a pencil [of course, safety first.xD], pilot gtech c4, fabre castel classic color pencils and watercolor pencils and prang watercolors on a 12x18 canson.

You know what it is?
The background overpowers the picture. If there was some color, or something in the background to make it more subtle it would make the picture itself jump out of the page. I think that's what they caught you on.
But the drawing is awesome. Those hanging light bulbs always get to me.

Same here... backgrounds suck. But when you look at your work, something like a background makes a huge difference in turning a drawing into a composition. Nowadays, stuff I was proud of a while ago looks like shit because I can see where a background was needed, haha.
Well it's just such a gloomy thing, the hanging light bulb. It's rather... ominous, and that makes it awesome. xD

really? i can't describe what i feel about it but it's the same feeling i get when i draw bunnies and giraffes with skulls for heads and balloons and their strings tied somewhere or hands holding balloons and.. bandages and well, there's plenty more.xD
