So frustrating!! I've been trying this for hours now and this [link] is best i got. I need to try another lens too since the one i used for this is is a telephoto zoom lens and not the most ideal for this kind of work... But the other lens i have is 18-55mm/f3.5-5,6 and it's not that hot either. But i want to succeed even once!!!! So any tip is appreciated

I'll tell you what, I'll take a photo of my setup.
The key is, use a remote shutter release. It makes life so much simpler because you can watch the drops as they come out of the faucet and kind of time them. Also, because we humans are slow, I tend to take the shot right as the drop leaves the faucet. By the time my finger clicks the remote shutter release the drop is hitting the water, and the camera goes off.
The other really important thing is to use a speed flash. I have an SB600 that I use... even without the remote shutter release you can still capture some good shots if you have a speed flash.

Anyhow, I'll take that photo today and show you how I do my drops, with the equipment I currently use
And yes... the process can be very frustrating sometimes... but when you succeed and get that ONE fantastic drop... it makes it all worth it

I have 670 failed droplet pictures... and it took hours because i used cameras built-in flash and it takes about 5mins to charge after taking 6 pictures so it was painful xD But yes! I want to see your set and hopefully i learn something from it

nc luv the colors and the seamless blending. is the colors part of the picture itself or done in photoshop?

Colors are from the photo... I used different colored cellophane in the background. When the flash hits the cellophane it reflects the colors off of the water
The HDR processing enhances the effect a bit with contrast and saturation, but only to an extent.
