Gigan and Megalon wisely stepped aside as X turned around. Four red eyes glared back at six more as Grand King Ghidorah walked into the chamber.
"You..."
The golden dragon's expression was as smug as it was vile, fanning his vast wings. By feeling the building power or hatred coming off the two, all previous action ceased as the other kaiju watched the two aliens.
"Pitiful display back at the river. You completely lost all sense."
"You're the one who kept trying to get in my head! What do you even want?"
"Temper temper X... I merely wanted to test the waters. A mind such as your's is such an interesting toy..."
"I AM NO PLAYTHING!"
X lunged forward before Gigan could step in to stop him, strong legs and telekinesis launching him forward. Ghidorah's eyes widened in surprise for a nanosecond before enclosing his wings to form an energy barrier. The golden shield flickered as a wave of energy passed through it while X launched a telekinetic charged jump kick. A resounding, gong-like crash echoed out from the blocked dropkick before X was deflected off, kinetic force reflecting off the barrier and launching him back. Flipping mid-air, X landed against a wall, driving his claws into it to anchor himself.
"Let's see if a closer proximity yields a bit more success getting into that conscious of your's..."
Ghidorah's eyes narrowed as an invisible force clamped down on X's mind. Malefic images ripped through his conscious as the hybrid grabbed at his head. Sheer will power was clashing with vile influence as memories and conscious were threatened to be torn asunder. The former won out and the Xilian warrior's eyes flashed with raw power before streams of gravitons fired out. Golden rays impacted a golden shield, forcing Ghidorah to slide back on his feet until he was forced back into the opposing wall with a resounding crash. The dragon restrengthened his shield, chuckling to himself.
"Weak, your memories are as scattered as my blood is in your veins."
X was most certainly not amused, bracing himself on the wall to launch off.
"I WILL TEAR YOU APART!"
The skeleton clad kaiju pounced off of the wall as Ghidorah fired streams of his lightning-like graviton rays from his mouth, destroying the wall behind X as the black and white fighter dodged mid-air. X rolled across the floor to his feet, rushing forward as Ghidorah dropped his shield and lunged with bare jaws. Just before recurved fangs and balled fists could connect, something spoke.
"STOP!"

After seeing the newest godzilla kotm trailer, seeing ghiodrah look through a window made me think back to this pic, I just think GKG would react to seeing the legendary ghidorah.

the side-heads have only 5 spikes on each side, and the two horns on top. the middle head has the two horns, a third curved horn in front, and tons of spikes on each side of the head

Hello Faith-Wolf love your design of Ghidorah. I may not be a a huge fan of the MLP show, but the art you drew for King of terror is really showcasing what an evil bastard he his.

Well the first two are about his power.
-Even though he's dead where does he stand in overall power compared to the other villian kaiju of the story?
-If he was better fighter, where he is able to take on multiple kaiju, powerful from the start without the aid of the souls he absorbed, along with his other abilities would he be to OP?

Chiming in after the Bae summoned me.
1. Grand King Ghidorah is in the top five strongest villains period for sure, only outright outclassed by deities like Bagan and Grogar. In terms of normal, non-deity kaiju the only one probably capable of beating him one on one on the 'villain' side is Kaizer Ghidorah. While the two are essentially the same in terms of firepower, Kaizer has benefit of high end soldier training and has two more limbs to use. Either of the Godzilla brothers in a meltdown or nightmare form, or Lea if she ever attained her full power could give him a lot of trouble or potentially best him.
2. If he were a better fighter I could see him being stronger than he was, but perhaps not unstoppable*. Kaizer might still have a leg up on him in optimal conditions because of a sturdier frame and more limbs to fight with, which is among other reasons why GKG deemed Kaizer a worthy and perhaps superior successor. In essence, GKG wouldn't think trying to grow stronger was even needed because as a firm believer in fate, he believed he himself was out of date and was going to be exceeded sooner or later anyways as a old model.
Also the souls he absorbed don't give an outright power boost, he more or less just devours them because he can and sees it as feeding. Grand King Ghidorah had no reason to be responsible for the slaughter of billions, he just did it because he could and saw destruction of what he deemed weak as his goal.
He took
-An extended fight with all four Dark Hunters
-Mental battle with both Alicorn sisters
-Protracted fight with a super charged Godzilla brothers one after another
-Getting impaled
-A beam strong enough to counter a continent buster
to finally kill him. GKG already is OP

Hey tarbano, sorry to bother you again but I have one more question regarding Monster X, because something's confusing me in Ch 34. When the kaiju were having a meeting with the mane 6 and princesses they brought up Monster X, but not his transformation.
-Does that mean Junior and his friends don't know about Kaizer Ghidorah ?

Nope. In this timeline X never went Kaizer on Terra during final wars. Some psychics might have sensed something wrong with him, but no human or Terran kaiju saw the Kaizer Ghidorah form.

Well... Junior, Lea and the rest of their allies are going to be in for a rude awakening when Monster X transforms into Kaizer Ghidorah. Because if Kaizer was almost able to kill a GKG by himself and is arguably more bloodthirsty than the old evil drake, then Junior and comp are going to have a hell of trouble.

Thanks for the info and I find it kind of shocking that Ghidorah would consider a successor given his God complex. But it's nice to see that he has a tiny bit of humility.
Also, I think he is probably the only kaiju Junior hates more than his brother at the time due how completely opposite they are. On top of that, I wonder how the ponies in that court room chapter, the mane 6 and the royals of the crystal empire(Cadence especially) would react if Junior and Lea told them about the King of Terror and what he's capable of as well as the atrocities he's committed.

I got guestion but king ghidorah in the heisei series. If the movies of Godzilla vs king ghidorah and godzilla vs mothra: battle for earth are in same continuity as in the rebirth of mothra so does that mean that there in fact two ghidorahs (not counting des), the future ghidorah and grand king? so it does beg the question, which one came first historically by time and how strong are they?

Yes there are two 'King Ghidorahs', the Artificial Ghidorah (GvKG) and Grand King Ghidorah (RoM3). Because the future travelers came from, well, the future; they would have been aware of Grand King Ghidorah. Seeking to make a powerful monster of their own to do their bidding, they might have intentionally created a creature based on GKG.
Artificial Ghidorah was created in the 1950s nuclear tests and then released (and killed) in 1991. Grand King Ghidorah on the other hand lived much earlier and much later, having first arrived on the planet in the Cretaceous era and returned in 1998. This timeline should help a bit.

Power wise, Grand King Ghidorah is much, MUCH stronger than artificial one. The Artificial Ghidorah was roughly equal to Godzilla Senior as of 1991. Senior grew stronger from 1991 to 1995. Grand King Ghidorah is strong enough that the combine force of both Godzilla Junior (1998) and Mothra Lea (no armored form) just barely was able to drive him off. For comparison, Junior is stronger than his father (due to growing up with the mutation rather than changing as an adult) and Lea is roughly equal to Junior. Long story short, Grand King Ghidorah would wipe the floor with the Artificial Ghidorah.

I thought of this but since Future king Ghidorah was controlled by the people of the future so he was bad then but we did not really see how he acted after he was free, then he was made in mecha king ghidorah then he was used for good.
So my question is that would be if he was still alive as king ghidorah, would he be good?

Welcome to the Heisei timeline's time travel shenanigans, it gets confusing.
Okay the people from the future, took three creatures into the past of the 1940s and 1950s in the sight of the nuclear bomb tests. This mutated the trio of animals, fusing them together and made the artificial Ghidorah, who was then time warped into the 1991 to go on a rampage under said future traveler's (who if memory serves were from the 2100s) control. It was then killed by Godzilla. The real King Ghidorah arrived on the planet in 1998-1999. So the future travelers were aware of the real King Ghidorah from the historical record (as 1999 was their past), and tried to make their own. And because they had a time machine, they showed up on the planet 8 years before the legit Ghidorah showed up.

Now that one didn't exist. I figured 2 King Ghidorahs was enough and already didn't want to explain their being 2 Mothra so I changed the events of GMK. Baragon was still there, but replacing Mothra was Gamera and replacing Ghidorah was Anguirus (mythology gag considering a Gamera vs. Godzilla movie was proposed around this time and originally Anguirus was in the movie but was replaced with Ghidorah). Also differing in events was Godzilla Junior charging into the fight and the trio overpowering the 'Ghost' Godzilla.

Can you feel hate in the air? King Ghidorah definitely looks quite sinister here, and he is quite terrible in the story too. And from the way he keeps tormenting X i'd say he has an obsessive desire to torment him in so many ways. This little moment is only hindered by "The Dark One's" arrival, and self leader nomination. You definitely know how to give good expressions to pony and kaiju alike. And i definitely think this is really good.

King Ghidorah should be the main villain in the entire Godzilla universe, but not Godzilla's greatest enemy. I think that title should go to Destotroyah because it was born from the Oxygen Destroyer. So that mean Destoroyah has the power to completely kill Godzilla.

King Ghidorah. In the Toho-verse this guy spent eons annihilating worlds, caused the extinction of the dinosaurs on Earth, and took the combined might of TEN Kaijus in one movie to take down. Nobody truly knows why he's so vicious and destructive, only that if he shows up, your doom is pretty much guaranteed.

He's also able to use the same blow into his wings to give him more speed.
