When the earth started freezing, any life form found outside started retreating into the underground. Any foolish or unfortunate soul left outside, slowly started dying as the temperatures dropped.

Among those still struggling to survive, were us, the last civilisation left to withstand this unforgiving weather. It has been so long inside our cave, we were afraid this winter would never end.

We lost hope of ever going outside, until, one day, a strange light filled the mouth of our secluded home. A warm, pleasant feeling flowed from the entrance, and with it, came a strange cry, a cry foreign to our ears.

This is it, we thought, as our eyes squinted, trying to focus on the creature above us.

Our hope has come.

Still struggling to write, but with time it will get better!

When I saw the photo reference, I knew I had to make a short story about it, and it seemed so fitting with the coming of winter in a few months!

I have to admit, I admire this photographer, he brings such mysterious and aesthetic light, they each tell a story of their own. I highly recommend to check him out!
