Description Steadtler Mars Lumograph Pencil on Strathmore Bristol.

This was for an art project where we had to recreate a drawing that we did several years ago. I think I did a good job, and I hope you guys like it too. The original drawing in comparison to this one is linked below, so you can take a look at my progress over a 4 year span. Thanks everyone, and let me know what you think.

Hello, I hope my critique will be useful for youe.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
First of all, congrats on improvement! It's really amazing how you've grown. Keep going! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="38" height="15" alt="" title="Hug"/>
Her hair looks flawless. You've really done a perfect job on it. Very voluminous, very textured, soft. All facial features are great too, lips are very lively, anatomy is kept proper. Also, wonderful idea with the colored butterflies. They add special little something with their pops of color.
Suggestions that I have are mostly about colors, so they might be irrelevant if your scanning device somehow shifted the colors.
I'd suggest you play a little more with the main color of the drawing. Biege is great, but with pops of colors from butterflies it mutes the whole picture. Maybe a little more contarst - brighter light parts, deeper shadows. Also, shadows are not always soft, somethimes you need to to make very defined edges to add more volume to the piece.
Good luck and keep practicing!

Thank you so much for writing a critique for this piece! I don't usually get people critiquing my stuff so I really appreciate that you have. Thank you for all the compliments, and the advice! My paper is actually white, but I take photos with my iPhone. I really should buy a scanner soon However, you are very right with the contrast between the butterflies and her, I definitely agree that I should have shaded her more.

And yes, your critique is very helpful. Again, thank you so much for giving my drawing one. I definitely will keep practicing!
