HOLY CRAPOLA!! I did that background?!
A while back I was inspired by but I never really got into drawing it untill requested I do a smutty drawing of Chief and Cortana. So I did it and I just couldn't find a pose for this at all, untill...I kept getting my ass kicked on Halo 3 playing the level "Cortana" and about three milleniums later when I finally got to rescuing Cortana, I started ranting to myself about how Cortana and Chief didn't seem all that happy to see each other. I mean fer cryin' out loud!!! Then it hit me!! I visioned this montrosity piece of smut
So I got to work and VIOLA!!! This is how Chief and Cortana really should have greeted each other!Anyhoo, Here you go Argent and Hibiscusgrl! I did this pic especailly for you two!! Man am I pooped *dies*

Thank you!! I'm very glad you approve of the background because I usually never can do a good one. I thought this part in the game was sweet and boy did Chief look sexy and that voice... 
Actually, you know, I do "commisions" for free right now (I'm assuming they're called requests but What do I know). I'm doing all art for others for free for the time being and then I'll think about adding prices later. So if you want one, I can do one for no charge

Well, by the looks of this amazing background I would've never known that you think you can't do them very well, lol. && OMG! The Chief's voice drives me insane.. though, I looked up a photo of the guy who does his voice && it wasn't pretty.. haha. Still, I love the MC all the same.

Well, the only thing I can say is....Practice practice practice. I know the armor a bit because I did that rotoscope 'The glory of Master Chief'. It helped me learn the details and what's there and what isn't. It's a good way to learn proportions, too. Yeah, backgrounds just are difficult for me because there is soo much detail! BLAH!!
I can draw that if you want...just send me a note describing what it is you'd like. 
I heard that steve downes (MC's voice) is tall. That's all I know.

I'm gonna try to see if I can make a decent picture of the Chief, lol. I found this really awesome close-up of his helmet, so maybe I can use that as a ref, lol.. We'll see. I get really excited about stuff && then after working on it for 2 hours I'm all 'blah' && I never work on it again.

Yeah, I read that too! He's kinda old, too.. at least he looks old. I also read that he pretty much NEVER plays Halo, though that could be a load of poo.

I can't wait for the pic!!! Refrences are the best way to learn something. Keep copying them and your hand starts "remembering" the potition of that certain thing (or so a teacher said to me). It does always seem like you do one pic and then you do another before you've finished the other. XD I must have at least Ten drawings I still need to finish

My current art teacher says the same exact thing. I use references a lot, but I try to stray away from posting things I've drawn using references on here (most of the time). A lot of people like to give me crap because of it, saying I'm cheating && all that. But, whatever.. It's my way of learning. That's how I got better at drawing horses. I hardly EVER use references for them anymore, unless I'm doing something more realistic. But with this Master Chief stuff, I'm definitely going to need a little help. I sketched him once while I was watching my boyfriend play the first Halo.. && it looked horrible. I haven't really tried since then, lol.

&& no, eye gouging is not necessary. He's not ugly.. but he's definitely NOT how you'd picture the Chief.

There are just some idiots on dA who think they can say whatever they want. They is uncool! I learned my style a bit from Peter Paul Ruebens. He helped me learn the female form a bit, And the way how hands are.
HORSES!! I wish I could draw them again. I used to be able to, but I stopped during junior year of High school. Dunno why. Now I'm trying to draw them again cuz a creature in my comic is like the horse. Proving to be a tad bit difficult though. I need more practice with the horse anatomy again

I need to work on my female form, lol.. when it comes to art that is! && I so totally suck at anything that has to do with fingers, haha. I'm out of practice. I really think I need to try some more realistic things, instead of making everything so darn cartoony, lol.
You know what really helped me with horses? The movie, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. For being animated the horse anatomy is great, && I've watched it so many times it just sort of stuck with me. I also spend a lot of time with horses, which helps a lot. Especially when I'm looking to do something a little more realistic.

The female figure is pretty simple...lots of circles and curves. For me that's soo much easier than the male (so many hard lines). I have a hand tutorial coming up. Not good hands, but the technique is good
I love the animation in Spirit!! The anatomy WAS very well done. I love horses. Used to draw them. Hmm..I shall have to find old pics I've done and post them.

Photoshop painting is difficult. I'm STILL trying to learn it. Just keep working on the cuves and the pose, and you'll get the figure down just right ^^

It's great to find things a miss, and make look the way it should. It makes us better at working with our imagination, and for any artist that is a lot harder to do than people think. That makes us better than a camera, because we don't mindlessly draw what we see. We create it. Nice work.

Yes, "A true artist doesn't just paint what he sees, he paints what he feels" were the wisest (and only ) words of wisdom I had recieved from high school art.
