Hello there!
This place is beautiful, where is it may I ask? It looks as if it holds so much potential for photographers of all different types!

I really like your use of the canopy and bush to form a frame for the picture; it leads the eye towards the bench and creates (to me) a sense of passing time; change, if you would call it that. I also find that the positioning of the bench towards the right of the image gives rise to a sense of looking to the future, though at the same time pondering on the past. You seem to have captured a certain essence of this place and added meaning to it (though, I'm unsure if you had intended for that or if it's just my analytical mindset getting the better of me here, heh). There are various different interpretations one can make from this image; but overall I feel it is quite appealing to the eye.

It's incredibly hard to be original with photography due to the fact that so many people do it and when it comes to landscapes, well, there are only so many ways you can take them without half killing yourself. We've all seen autumn photographs, many with canopies and benches. Despite this, they are never the less beautiful. You have (from what I see) incorporated your own style into this image and added in your own unique aspects.

You have used photographic conventions well in this image, I believe. Your framing through subject matter and division via the rule of thirds assists to make this image more appealing to its viewers. From this one can notice that you are familiar with photography and know what you're doing when it comes to composing an effective and impacting image.

The suggestions I can make for improvement (which when saying this, please only take it constructively and not demotivationally) are those in relation to post processing and a few technical conventions. In this lighting, I know how difficult it can be to achieve an image with balanced light. Though, I feel that a little more contrast would assist to create a more appealing image. Perhaps a little more light upon the foreground and background would help, too (once again, I know that this is really difficult to do without the required equipment. I've tried it so, so many times and failed miserably). Perhaps also a little straightening of the image would help, too. I find that images are much more appealing when the point of focus is in a straight line rather than an uneven one; but this depends on the artists opinion, and it's only very minor (I'm getting really nitty gritty here, heh). And last but not least, I feel that perhaps a little more saturation/vibrancy and/or colour filters (i.e. warming filters, sepia filters) would assist to create a more impacting and visually appealing image.

With that said, I understand how difficult landscape photography can be, and it's a real pain to get everything perfect. But that's just my opinion there. I hope that it can prove to be useful to you in some way. And once again, please only take this constructively; I can see that you're an experienced photographer from your gallery. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
