Description
Wind Rider is a minor antagonist, whose first and only appearance was in Season 5's "Rarity Investigates". In the episode, he framed Rainbow Dash in order to kick her out of the Wonderbolts so that she wouldn't break his record as the fastest-flying pegasus.

When I first uploaded this picture to my Photos app, I was originally going to request someone to make a vector out of it. However, I later decided to upload the picture myself as a dedication to Wind Rider's voice actor, Jan Rabson, who died of a heart attack on October 13, 2022, at the age of 68. To make the picture something art-worthy, I used the adjust feature on my Photos app to completely erase a couple of tables that were next to Wind Rider on the left, as I felt that they were distracting and unnecessary for the occasion.

Antagonist-wise, Wind Rider wasn't exactly someone who stood out to me in terms of being compelling, but I thought he was pretty well-worked as a character regardless. Whenever I even look back on him, I find that he's a perfect alternate reflection of Rainbow Dash, in that he represents what would happen if Rainbow Dash only cared about herself and her own accomplishments. Plus, the revelation that he was the mastermind at the end of "Rarity Investigates" made the most sense, because I have a feeling that no one would like it if a regular Wonderbolt that already achieved a big fanbase, like Soarin, was the real culprit. I would've loved to see Wind Rider make a new appearance in the show, maybe even in a sequel spinoff to FiM, but now...I'm not exactly sure how that'd be possible due to Rabson's death. Rabson did a phenomenal job playing the character, that’s for sure. I mean, they could probably find someone who’d really mimic Rabson's portrayal while making the character his own, but it would have to be someone who'd manage to pull it off.
