Welcome to Lilypad Town
Creature-Crossing is currently OPEN to new members, OPEN to new villagers!
What is Creature Crossing?
This guide is designed to help you design your first villager and turn over a new leaf in our little town.
Creature Crossing is an Art RolePlaying Game (ARPG) that is heavily inspired by the game franchise, Animal Crossing! This group is entirely non-profit and was designed to be a group where people can make friends and come to relax with fun events, activities, and character design.
This group aims to be one without a heavy need for a "grind" for rewards and is meant to be played at your leisure! In the town of Lilypad, you can create and breathe life into your villager characters! Here in Lilypad, we have an extensive base filled with casual life, friendships/relationships, lore, and magic.
We hope you will enjoy your stay!
How to Join
When you first join the group during our limited-time openings, you'll instantly be rewarded a STANDARD VILLAGER TICKET , which means you can start designing your first villager and prepare them for moving into Lilypad Town! Your first villager will enter the town with 0 Bells to start with, but you can earn them quickly by participating in the group.
Note that you must join the group FIRST before you're able to move them into Lilypad! Once you join the group, you may take as long as you need to make a villager!
Each Standard Villager Ticket comes with a custom villager slot, as well as a 6-space plot of land in town for your villager to built their home on and grow flowers or fruit trees. Your house can be of your own design and does not cost in-group currency or take up a land plot.
Leaving and Rejoining
If you leave the group and come back after deleting/retiring your characters, you are not eligible for the rewarded Standard Villager Ticket. You must purchase an entirely new ticket to obtain a villager, even after leaving and rejoining over a long period of time. If you left and rejoined without ever having made a villager, this does not apply.
Creating Your First Villager
Examples of the Different Areas for Clothing
You may choose TWO CLOTHING ARTICLES for your animal villager to start with, or THREE CLOTHING ARTICLES for a human villager. As long as the clothing articles are connected, they will count as ONE clothing article (ex. sleeves to shirts, jumpsuits, onesies, sweater vests, hoodies, etc.)
Future accessories and outfits can be bought with Bells at Taylor's Tailoring !
Examples of the Different Types of Villagers
Unless you've won or have been gifted a GOLDEN VILLAGER TICKET, or a DIMENSIONAL VILLAGER TICKET, you will be starting out with creating a Standard Villager! A Standard Villager can be any animal that exists. This includes humans and extinct animals!
Your first Standard Villager is free and other villagers can be created and move in with the usage of in-game currency or be one from raffles, events, and contests.
View our Closed/Open Species Permission Hub if you want to turn your Open/Closed species into a Villager!
Anthropomorphism
Your character may be any shape and size that you wish, regardless of species. However, they must always remain primarily upright and/or bipedal when being introduced as characters in the group.
Coloring and Hairstyle
Any colors and markings are allowed! If you wish to add or change colors in the future, you can visit the town's salon for a make-over! This is the same with the hairstyle. Any length, style, and color is allowed.
Finalizing
Once you've finished with your new villager's design, fill out the application with all of the necessary components! If you are not sure of something in the app, leave it blank! You can always change it later.
Please be sure to fill out the form found in the template descriptions and add it to your own description when uploading your app for approval!
When you've finished with your application, head over to the Lilypad Town's Approval Hub and reply to the featured comment with your completed character app!
Please do NOT submit your app to the Resident Applications folder until you have received a reply from the BankOfLilypad account on your submission in the Approval Hub.
Thank you, and welcome to Lilypad Town!

So long as you've hit the join button during any of the group openings and never left the group, you're a member. Since you haven't used your starter villager ticket yet you can still make your first villager!
Doesn't matter how long it takes you to make your character you're all set o7
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

There is no quiz- we just trust that you read the rules and will refer to the FAQ for any questions you have (You can ask questions in the FAQ journal if you can't find the answers in the FAQ itself). All you need to do is click Join to submit a Join request. There is no limit to the number of incoming members during the week we're open.
Yes, your first villager may be a moth! The rule is that your starter villager needs to be a Standard Villager, meaning a real animal (so no unicorns or dragons for your first one). All colors are welcome and be sure not to start with more than two clothing items!

this group looks interesting 👀
i have a question regarding clothing,, would just and accessory (ie. bowtie bracelet scarf) be acceptable or must it be a top/outfit

Nachtetraum In reply to LeviTehLillipup [2020-03-30 04:34:56 +0000 UTC]
An accessory is defined as any sort of clothing item.
Shirts, vests, dresses, aprons, skirts, bow ties, ties, hair bows, belts, shoes, anything like that are all considered accessories.

for when the group opens up again in two days
would a fox be acceptable as a standard villager, i made a character for the fun of it last night and would like to check if that would be allowed.
(I remembered some time ago hearing about this arpg and hope to join in when you open up)

A fox should be totally fine for a standard! The only reason it would be considered as otherwise is if your character is magical is any shape or form! <3

Yup, colors don't need to match real world depictions just be sure what you have is what you want! It'll cost Bells to change it after approval.

where should I start now that my CC is ready? is there like somewhere where new creatures can go to start off? Do we have starting items or anything? ;; I just don't know what to do or where to go

Hello! All villagers must first go through the Approval Hub to be approved with all the necessary information needed in the description. As noted in this journal, they do get to start with two clothing items but otherwise they start with nothing. Bells can be earned through artwork and literature involving the villager.

Hello!
Once you have a villager that has been accepted into the group, you can draw to earn bells
Earning bells means you can get gear such as a fishing rod, shovel, and etc. from Samuel's Shop!
Those give you the ability to participate in things like fishing, bug catching, and other activities.
Other than that, there's really no set place to go, as we aren't a linear group - do what you want! Create a story, make friends, collaborate, or just draw and write to your heart's content about anything your villager would like to do!

P1X13-STIX In reply to Wholepsalm [2020-03-05 01:21:34 +0000 UTC]
is there a place I go to submit the more random story based pieces or do I just submit them and someone will comment on them? and ty for replying!!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Wholepsalm In reply to P1X13-STIX [2020-03-05 01:30:19 +0000 UTC]
Ah, okay!
So, for pieces not tied to activities that have to do with the group, you'd want to submit your pieces to "Everyday Life" or "Misc. Literature" !
If you want to try and make friends, you can submit a journal into "Interaction Requests" !
And it's no problem !
If you have any other questions, feel free to reply to me again at any time, or send a note to me or the group and I'll be more than happy to help you <3

I was just curious; if you wanted to make your Standard a species that goes through total metamorphosis, how would that work in the group? Would you need to just pick either the adolescent or adult stage of the animal for their permanent appearance, or would the other stages of their life count as some of the allotted alternate forms of the character if you had those unlocked?
Thanks in advance ^^
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Nachtetraum In reply to CelticQuailKnight [2019-12-29 02:12:50 +0000 UTC]
If you pick a specie like a caterpillar, you could have your villager go through the physical change of metamorphosis into a butterfly. It would count as a form change that you can earn once your villager is 4 months of age.

Sorry to ask if this has already been asked but: If we get a standard ticket to replace the free ticket villager would we be able to transfer the free ticket villager into an NPC? ( sorry for the dumb question )
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Nachtetraum In reply to PotatoScotch [2019-10-05 22:17:00 +0000 UTC]
I don't think I understand what you're asking entirely. You're wanting to know if you buy/earn another ticket besides the free one you start with, you want to turn it into an NPC?
I don't think I quite follow. Would you mind elaborating?

PotatoScotch In reply to Nachtetraum [2019-10-06 08:30:25 +0000 UTC]
whoops, sorry about being confusing.
a long way:short way, I'm asking if we could transfer our existing villager(s) into NPCs if we got another villager to replace them with.
once again, sorry for being confusing.

Nachtetraum In reply to PotatoScotch [2019-10-06 18:19:13 +0000 UTC]
You are welcome to keep your character and have more than one to use. Many members have more than one character to actively use in art and writing pieces.
It of course is up to you on how you wish to use the ticket and your characters.

If you have joined the group you can make your first standard character whenever! You can also purchase any of the adopts that mods submit to the group as well.
If you need any help with what's allowed or not, feel free to shoot a message to any of the mods via their dA or if you're on the discord, their DMs on there.
