Good question. Since he first started the original Batman had no issue using guns or killing people, it was really only after they started marketing towards children they changed those aspects of him.

I think sometimes the weapons can be necessary, mostly bladed or blunt objects, but it's hard to justify guns for someone who claims not to kill. However, if your interpretation of Batman is one who is ok with guns and killing, that's fine. He's a fictional character, and we're all allowed our individual interpretations and adaptations to suit our thoughts and beliefs.

It is in way, but imagine if he never stopped. A no guns rule would be equally strange appearing out of nowhere if they had maintained that aspect. I think sometimes the movie show that what Batman does would result in several people dying, no matter how much we like to think otherwise. It's like the Arkham games. A lot of those things that knock people out would outright kill them in real life, or at least leave them in a really critical condition.

I see you're point especially if he did that to me in the games I would have been dead in real life.
