i like it! im a bit uncertain about all the black at the top but the lighting and the foreground blend well with the city lights. excellent quality too.

+fav, youve earned it m8.

Absolutely supurb... you captured the lighting so damn well. not only did you capture it wonderfully, but you also put it in great context with the road and city.

Great stuff indeed

Wonderful exposure, the lightning is beautiful as always. The lights from the city are stunning I must say. Looks a bit like LosAngeles

Just beutiful, like always. I did notice, like others said, there is a whole lot of negative space, but I think it works out, showing a sky with basicaly no stars. Great job!

i just noticed you like the same strange formats as i do very tall & very impressive. i like it. guess i have to try lightning shots that as well ...

just to bad the image isn't cropped at the top properly ... the difference to pitch black is not big, but's here. at least it's visible on my screen. (maybe my screen is too good.)

woah, thats so awsome. i love how you got so much of the sky, it gives a sort of sense of, i dunno, but it looks good. haha. the border gives it a nice touch too.

Wow...absolutely gorgeous shot man. I would have to agree with the others about too much negative space at the top though. Other than that I think it is utterly amazing.

Yeah, the negative space is a bit overwhelming. however, I like how it affects the rest of the image. It sort of makes you concentrate on the cityscape etc. Maybe you could've 'enhanced' the image a bit, by say...hell i don't know - use your imagination. I love these city views - moreover because I love that city. One of the greatest in the world, period.

Border and your logo: WAY too big and WAY too 'hard'. Tone it down a notch. Be subtle. It works much better and isn't as disturbing as when you're up there blasting your name all over the image. Just my thoughts.

Great job as usual. Don't mean to bitch bro, just trying to help

Thank you for such a great shot... I must continue to press harder into the fray and get a shot of lightning... Really nice work on this capture...

wonderful job, the picture is almost divine.. beautiful..
you should try to take this same (well 50% same) feeling,
only that there should be more lightning.. i think that could
make the picture perfect. anyways

You really work wonders with negative space. Your pictures ALWAYS remind me more of a painting than a photograph. you seem to have more of an artistic look at photography than a realistic one, which i love. i strive to be a good photographer like that and am learning a lot from your work here on DA. Great photo friend.

oh yeah I do like this piece man it looks almost arteficial...
Very nice lighting in the fore. this give a great contrast to the dark clouds and flashes in the background.
The amount of black area is a bit too much for my taste...

but I do like your work

brilliant work...

i love the use of black space here. it makes the flashes really small and almost unimpressive.

well done!

first of all it looks very much professional and perfect in every layer..
the quality simply rocks.. as always in your pics, but here the lightning bolts look like artificial ones
in a good way of course. i like the cropping too.
you know it already.. this is ass-kicking

Schaut auf jedenfall genial aus ... schade das es ned im Querformat ist, aber so siehts auch genial aus ...

I agree with steampowered about the negative spacing, the border is a bit large also, but other then that, you are awsome with long exposures. I like how the lightning is surrounding that tower up on the hill/in the distance, nice!

This is a fantastically sharp image. Excellent exposure control and timing. I know you like using negative space, but I can't help but feel there is just a little too much in this one. This is obviously just my opinion. Perhaps 2/3's scenery 1/3 negative space would have had a more profound effect. None-the-less, you know what you had in mind, and it's a rather nice composition. Good work.
