Description
...mi[nd]graine...I was hanging out with my buddies when suddenly I was struck with the idea
to take pictures of bursting waterbaloons.
I started to restructure and redecorate our bathroom into
something that resembles a photostudio
will follow soon).
4 hours of hanging around in the bathtub, managing the lights and
contrasts, testing various balloons and trying millions of angles followed. During this session me and my roommate * fritsch came up with
even more ideas how to work this particular technique/concept into other
types of photographs. More of these will be on DA soon.
I'm still not quite satisfied with the lighting, but I thought this piece
would be a good start into this new series. Hopefully I'll get better along
the way.
Big thanks go out to *fritsch for the technical support and millions
of other things..
and thereby giving the piece a deeper meaning.
It was a pretty tough project, but i think it was worth it...Well, it was fun, that's for sure..
Technical stuff:
Photoshop work
I think this is my most difficult and complex work so far, so please don't be do hard on me

That's such a great shot! Question though, how did you time your shot so perfectly? That's truly one of the greatest shots I've ever seen!
God BLess!

This photo just blow me away completely First of all it's a great realization of a very creative idea. Then there is the photo with the razor sharp image of the water. That in it self is extremely well made. The fact that it looks almost lika a brain is just a bonus. Im looking forward to more of these ideas mate.

i like the idea and motif a lot.
but the empy part of an image in the upper part is superfluous.
cut it away and you will have better composition and more affective photo.
thumbs up for great describtion!
catch ya later,
ciril

Wonderfully creative and you;ve come up with some fantastic results!
I do think a small reflector on the right would even up the blanace a bight and soften the shadows.

existance coined in hands, captured when disolving, joint buildings of humain rocks. undetermined adjectives for the longest never to come water-fall. the very essence of the human mind, the sphere almost coliding in nonexistence with wings glued to a supernova's retinne.

This really is amazing work and the patience and persistance that you put in to this paid off beautifully. The angle is perfect for it shows a straight on shot where the head of the subject is hidden behind the exploding water balloon. What we see is the perception that the person is holding a brain (for the water ripples in the center do take on the characteristics of a brain) instead of his/her head. Well done.

great shot! looks like it worked out great, the concept is probably the best part out of it all, really amasing! One can hadly imagine the person modelling has a head ... you didnt accidentally pull it of did you ?? O_o
