Just here to drop the hit ratio's bruh for light type! This took a while to do Q~Q
2x effective against Dark / Duh
2x effective against Fairy / Think about light pinned to a point.
2x effective against Steel / Same thing as last one since metals are very light absorbent
1.5x effective against Cosmic / Light can only go so far but it can still be destructive
0x effect against ghost / Ghosts can NOT be touched by light
0.5x less effective against Grass / Photosynthesis bruh
0.5x less effective against Fire / If anything, it should only make it grow
0.5x effective against Rock / Rocks usually only heat up when exposed to light... not much else
2x attacked by Dark / One of those types that just works both ways
2x attacked by Ghosts / Ghosts can NOT be touched by light, but they can Interact with it.
2x attacked by Ice / Ice is semi, light absorbent and can turn it against itself like glass
0.5x attacked by Fire / Fire is created by light, not destroying it
0.5x attacked by Normal / I just needed to give normal some love. This is optional

If you thought about adding Glitch entirely because Xureen has it, then I’d say don’t go with it. Delilah’s story point is Cosmic, or at least would make sense if it was, just like Zantaru’s story, and Zantaru doesn’t even have the Glitch type. I’m not trying to change your opinion and get you to remove it, and in fact if you wanted to make more Glitch-only mons I’d be happy to help. I just feel like it doesn’t work without a story behind it. It’s no Fairy, or at least shouldn’t. I personally hate how Fairy was added, making a big deal about how new it is but then not making it as a type the main plot of XY (yes, Xerneas is Fairy-type, but the plot revolves around the Pokémon, not the type).

I see where you're coming from... Adding new things but without a story and/or purpose is just a waste... I think that I might have Glitch in the story... that is if that makes sense to the story currently right now. So i'm still on the fence about this type, it might be a possbliity that will be here but... I still have to think about it.

Well, I’d say go right ahead, I figure like with Sound, Food, and especially Light, there’s a way to make it work. I could help, seeing as you appear to have gotten the idea from me. I’m already excited. It’s just...I feel like Glitch-type is my baby. I’ve spent the better part of three years with it, and I don’t want to see it wasted. That’s it, I’m being overly defensive about it. It oughta be fine.

ok, some pokemon get retypes in this world. Would jigglypuff and melloetta gain the music type? I can think of alot of legendarys that would get the cosmic type(and light type too since not many other pokemon are light based that aren't either grass or normal =w . Food is sorta out there. Glitch can only work on one pokemon currently... missingno.

Well yes jigglypuff and melloetta with gain the music type. As for the Food type it is out there that's because Delilah is pretty much filled with suprises and this is one of the first. As of matter of fact, I can think of a few Pokemon that can be that type. Yeah... Glitch type might be a new type... again I'm not sure.

eh, rotom is one of the pokemon that I can only ever see as an electric type. Explain to me why he might get one of these types?

Lemme see...it inhabits machines and takes them over. I don’t know about you, but I feel it’s so much of a point of the idea of Glitch-type Pokémon that six outta twelve Glitch-only mons I’ve created (the Dustramana and Chilagon evolutionary lines, and to an extent Pixeleon, since its point is null, which is why its National Pokédex number is 0) have that as one of their main functions.

Ashbini In reply to Astralneko [2017-11-16 02:59:27 +0000 UTC]

Pixeleon already exists in multiple games .3. but anyways-
and how can two pokemon be #0 missingno pretty much claims that number for himself. I've done a fair bit of research into creating Pokemon. Adding new types should be taken slowly. You have to make sure that a new type is effective against two, and weak against two. The new type must also have no effect on atleast 1 type but no more than two. No skill of the new type should make or null a different skill. There are so many variable that go into new types  that you have to make sure of so that if they were encounter the battle is fair. let's say cosmic is weak against glitch (might not but this is an example). I should also point that their are Pokemon ranks. Legendary isn't the top rank more 3rd tier.

I’m not even going to go into the logistics of creating Pokémon types. All that’s gonna do is cause a bitter argument that nobody will like. I’m not dismissing your opinion, I just know better than to try to defend myself if such a defense will be cringy, because that’s what any response on my end will be. I should know since I almost did respond to the actual argument, but I didn’t want to cause, well, an argument.

There wouldn't have been an argument doh .3. (not with me atleast)
But I do want to know what your deffense is on these custom types. Are they all just fun and just a creative choice so that a pokemon can be defined through the new ones without the old? Or were they made with the intention to be applied to a meta game with weaknesses that apply to all? I'm very interested in the conversation and want to see your opinion on how these fake types can be worked in to be just like a real type >3<

Astralneko In reply to Ashbini [2017-11-16 03:46:35 +0000 UTC]

Ah. Well...see, Celestial (the same sort of thing as CRenea10’s Cosmic type, but the name Celestial sounds cooler IMO) and Glitch are meant to be serious types, it’s just they have some competitive problems. Primarily, both are weak to Fairy.

Celestial was made as a creative choice particularly for Pokémon Topaz and Amethyst, which have many Pokémon based upon space and stuff. Either they’re star/space-related (Astrayshi, Solrock), alien (Recalitty, Beheeyem) or both (Clefable, Rithalinka). The metagame aspect came later. What I saw in the Pokémon metagame, across all Gens, is Steel domination. It’s been such since Gen 3 or 4, particularly Metagross and Lucario, both of which received Mega Evolutions in Gen 6, probably because Steel lost its resistances to Dark and Ghost (10 resistances now instead of 12, which was true in Gen 5, the supposed reform gen), which pre-Mega Evolution was the reason Steel was so freaking OP. I suppose its rarity justifies its OP-ness (same goes for Celestial), but that’s why Celestial is immune to (and super effective on) Steel.

Glitch, on the other hand? This one’s been an idea for longer than Celestial, but I removed it due to not liking it, and finally added it back fresh, as a new concept. I took inspiration from Shadow-type (from XD), but I designed it differently. Glitch, like Shadow, is a type modifier for most Pokémon, but unlike Shadow, which I’m pretty sure adds itself to an existing Pokémon’s type, Glitch replaces a type for most Pokémon. Any Glitch Pokémon with an amount of types other than two (some other type as primary and Glitch as secondary) is Legendary. Guaranteed. Since it is considered a type modifier, and plus such moves as Trick-or-Treat exist, Glitch could theoretically result in a Pokémon having three types. However, all instances of such are Legendary, because typically the secondary type is replaced with Glitch rather than Glitch being added. This was in part creativity and in part balance. Glitch is a pretty powerful type, it would be OP if a Pokémon had full access to, for Glitch Flygon as an example, Ground, Dragon, and Glitch type moves. So Glitch Flygon is just Ground and Glitch-type, forget the Dragon, in this instance for evolutionary line reasons (the entire Trapinch evolutionary line is Ground-type, but not the whole thing is Dragon-type).

Phew. Now, I gotta go for the night. Plus, this ramble is so long that my Arceus, you’re probably bored at this point. Well, one last disclaimer. My Celestial and Glitch have no impact on CRenea10’s Cosmic and Glitch, respectively.

Not bored at all! it was interesting to see how you came into the concepts for these types! And steel and dragon still range as the most powerful types. They both contain moves that have more thn 100 power as well as are hard to counter. Unless it was planned for, most of the typical player's type's won't have advantage and if they do you can just switch pokemon.
