Jill Valentine from the GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil... or REmake as I call it.I wanted to capture the "fear" element of the game, not the gore. I wasn't interested in showing an action shot of any kind. I didn't want the detail of a zombie's decaying flesh to be the focus here. I just wanted to show an expression. Thats it. I felt that the shadow really served as both a tribute to the lighting in the game and it was a great way to have a zombie in the image without even actually showing him.

I really like this image, it does exactly as you say, captures the fear and tells the story without even the need to show a zombie. I love how it tributes to the game too, the lighting, etc. Shame the films didn't have more of this kind of feel!Β

I love this game! Just started playing it again, gosh I miss these kind of games.

Yeah no doubt. I love RE2 and RE3, but something about RE1 was just creepier. But the problem was that it was also the cheesiest. So when this came out, it had the best of everything in my opinion. Took everything that was great about the first and just perfected it while adding new things. Love this game. I think the only game I've played in the last couple of years that even reminded me of games like this was Silent Hill Homecoming. I haven't played all the SH games (although I love the first one on PS1) and I don't know that it really got rave reviews but I was just so happy to play a game where you had to find items, backtrack, and actually had limited resources. I'm okay with straight forward games but they don't all need to be Point A Point B shooting galleries with checkpoints every 100ft.

Sad for me to say that I never played RE2 and 3, I hope that maybe Capcom will remake resident evil 2. If they manage to do it and make it like the RE remake maybe the survival horror genre will go back to it's roots. It would be nice to finally get a remake of 2 and 3, making the game enjoyable for old fans as well as new ones. That is if Capcom can do it right.
