This is a drawing for 's contest. Where we were supposed to draw an oc of ours with hers. I chose Maile for the sole purpose that :linkpurplenekochan: is from Hawaii and Maile is my favorite memory of when I lived there and she passed away Valentine's Day of 2007.

So here they are, Lirang and Maile together on a nice warm beach. Lirang is trying to place a flower in Maile's hair and Maile wants to give her something in return so she's thinking of giving her the small lei bracelet.

I absolutely loved drawing this even though it took many,many hours to do (While watching Scrubs, so that didn't help much) and the palm tree alone to color took evers. Still trying out highlighting, and I tried a new style in Lirang's hair. That outfit was so much fun to draw, even though it's the old outfit >.< my references were pretty old anyways. But I finished this cutting close to the deadline (June 30)

Lirang means Lotus
and
Maile is a flower used in some leis.
