Description
It's a little fuzzy but it's a lightning strike from Sunday night. The storm was far off over the sound. Outer Banks of NC, USA.Related content

Hey there, just wanted to compliment you on this pic, and point out to ya that there is this guy who enjoys taking credit for other photographers work on facebook, he also tries to sell prints of their photographs... He posted this tonight and claimed he just took it; [link]
Figure he prob has taken other pics from you in the past... Anyway, take care!

I just shamed him on FB. Thanks for the info I didn't see anything else on of mine on there but I'm guessing a lot of those photos belong to other photogs. Whatta jerk. He didn't specifically claim it to be his but he puts Nature photog on his profile and then doesn't credit it? Or at least say it's one he found.

He claims to be employed by National Geographic and regularly posts pics he claims were taken by him for them, outside the country. I don't think he has a single pic on his profile that is his, when he takes a pic of himself its always very grainy and terrible quality... The other lightning pic he posted yesterday had been the background on my phone a couple years prior and I recognized it (as well as a few other people) and called him out on that also. He's gone through a few facebook account due to being reported for this, he keeps making new ones though.

Well I like my lightning pic myself but it's no national geographic quality pic. It's nowhere near sharp enough.
That's pretty sad. He's a legend in his own mind. I often wondered how many of my pics showed up somewhere else. I don't usually block them from being downloaded and I also usually put them up full sized without watermarks. I have a sister in law who swears she saw a puppy shot I took on a poster in a store.
I only once ever took art from here and posted it somewhere else but I didn't claim it to be mine. A pretty popular nude photog on here once posted a shot of a guy in a bunny suit (himself I think) looking like he was hit by a car and left on the side of the road. I posted it at Easter in an album called funny pics or something like that on FB where I keep some funny web grabs I download other peoples work pretty often to look at more closely. I assume that the people who download mine for the most part are doing the same or collecting pics they like which is ok by me more or less. People are strange though. Anyone who is fooled by him probably doesn't know much about photography. That gallery was pretty sloppy looking even though it had some interesting pics. The quality and the style varied way too much. Many look like vacation shots too. Mine actually was while I was on vacation in the Outer Banks of NC. I love the OBX. I have a lot of my favorite shots from there posted on here. Hope to get there this summer again. It's a great place to shoot at and relax!
Thanks for the compliment again and the report. I'd report him to FB but it's not like he is trying to sell it. He's just kinda sad. I did call him out but he's probably deleted that by now. So sad. Poor guy needs to get a life or get out and shoot more so he can post something he took that looks good.

Yeah he is pretty pathetic... He recently made a new facebook his last one got deleted I think due to his copyright infringement habit but he was posting multiple times a day begging people to request his page to everyone cause he wanted to sell 'all his work' since he gets so many requests for prints to be made for sale... I get made on principle though, I know people that actually do make a living as photographers, I don't need people like him with any sort of web presence lol

I can't say I could make a living doing this. I seem to spend a lot of money on it though lol. I'm thinking of going pro this year. I've got to find a way just justify the stuff I want to buy!
