Description
A snap from "The Fifth Elephant", part of the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, my ongoing obsession. Vimes has just managed gotten out of the frying pan and into the metaphorical fire. I want to do a mini-graphic novel of my favorite scene(s) out of this book, but I have to find a way to churn pages out faster. And then maybe I'll get back to Going Postal again.Download for full-sized image, because it's rather large (even if only to see a close-up of Vimes, who looks really cute).

This picture is SO cool & well done ... but wasn't Vimes nekkid ('cept for boxers) when he started running?

I have a question:Why is the book called "The Fifth Elephant"? Does it have something to do the elephants holding up the Discworld?
Anyway, I love love this. It gives you the feeling he's been traveling quite some time and distance.

Yes. Kind of. There are four elephants holding up the world. It is said that there was a fifth elephant that crashed into the Disc many millions of years ago with the force of a impacting asteroid. It's more of a Uberwald fairy tale really. But the fifth elephant is also an Uberwald metaphor for "something that isn't what it appears to be", making it a thought provoking book title as well as an awesome pun.

Whoo! I clicked your watch-button a long time ago, but I'd forgotten all about you!
Great job on those trees, and if you'd get back to Going Postal some day, I'd be a really happy bunny.

You did a great job portraying the depth in this image. Upon first glance, I mistook the trees in the background for a photograph.

Nice! I love how you made the environment feel real... That it's not all about the character in this picture. Very well done!
I seriously need to check those books out
