Ma la Nexus, la più mastodontica astronave militare del gioco di ruolo del WALL-E Forum (www.walleforum.com) non poteva meritare niente di meno!! Per finire quest'immagine c'è voluto più di un anno di lavoro non stop, ma ne valeva la pena!

Questa è solo una piccola parte dell'equipaggio, composto da umani, robot e Mantrin (gli alieni canguroidi del film Titan AE); in senso orario, TANK (il robottone che si intravede fuori dalla finestra), Tallasee (la Mantrin con il cappello da cuoco), Sev (il maschio Mantrin in armatura), Ax (il giovane Mantrin grigio azzurro con la maglietta degli Andaliti), Gordon Macarthur (il vecchio militare), Stith (la Mantrin che armeggia con i cavi nel muro), ALEX (la sonda EVE rossa e bianca), Genesis (il lupo robot che sale le scale), il Capitano Neo Hikato (in piedi e in uniforme), il tenente Mary Ann Macarthur (la donna col caschetto) e il tenente collonello Fitzroy (l'uomo di spalle che fa il saluto militare). Negli schermi olografici ci sono invece Buddy [link] e JAXA [link] ambedue ricercati.

Un bel po' di omaggi Ovviamente i Mantrin provengono dal film Titan AE e Stith è proprio un'expie della Stith del film. Ax è ispirato ad Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, l'Andalita protagonista dei romanzi Animorph (chi se li ricorda?), l'idea del tatuaggio l'ho presa da una fanart bellissima trovata su Internet... ma non so chi l'ha realizzata, se sapete il nome dell'artista segnalatemelo!! Poi, Macarthur è ispirato (nel nome soltanto) al vecchio generale del libro "Dieci piccoli Indiani" di Agatha Christie. Mary Ann Macarthur è ispirata ai primi bozzetti del personaggio di Mary Ann Flagstarr di PKNA (che poi aveva assunto un aspetto del tutto differente nel fumetto) e Fitzroy è un'expie dell'anticipaticissimo Fitzroy di PK2. E dire che io Fitzroy lo ODIO, avevo pure una pagina contro di lui, la Fitzroy Go Home... e adesso invece ho un personaggio ispirato a lui. Che brutti scherzi fa la nostalgia!!

But the Nexus, the greatest military starship in the WALL-E Forum Roleplay (www.walleforum.com) could not deserve anything less!! It took over a year of hard work to finish this picture, but it was worth it!!

This is just a small part of the crew, which includes humans, robots and Mantrins (the kangaroo/raptor like aliens in the movie Titan AE). Clockwise, there's TANK (the big mecha that can be glimpsed outside the window), Tallasee (the female Mantrin with cook toque), Sev (the armored Mantrin male), Ax (the young bluegray male Mantrin with Andalite t-shirt), Gordon Macarthur (the old soldier), Stith (the female Mantrin kneeling and fixing up wires in the wall), ALEX (the white and red EVE probe), Genesis (the Military K-9 who climbs the stairs), Captain Neo Hikato (standing, in full uniform), lieutenant Mary Ann Macarthur (the woman with the A-cut hair) and lieutenant colonel Fitzory (the guy who salutes). In the holoscreen you can see Buddy [link] and JAXA [link] who are wanted criminals.

Quite some homages Obviously the Mantrins come from the movie Titan AE and Stith is an expie of the movie's Stith. Ax is based on Aximili-Esgarrouth-Ishtill, the Andalite character in the Animorph books (who remembers them?), I got the idea for his cool tattoo from a beautiful fanart I found on the web, but I don't know the author's name... if you remember who drew it point it out to me!! Next, Macarthur is based (only in name) on the old general from Agatha Christie's novel "And then there were none". Mary Ann Macarthur is inspired by the early design for Mary Ann Flagstarr in the PKNA series (Flagstarr looked completely different in her final version in the comic), and Fitzroy is an expie of the insufferable Starcorp guard Fitzroy from PK2. And believe it or not, I HATE PK2's Fitzroy, I even ran the Fitzroy Go Home website... and now I have based a character on him. What mad tricks nostalgia pulls on people!!
