Thanks. Our friend had a shiny metal blues guitar as well but I chose the natural wood grain to photograph this time. I loved the reflections from both.
In passing I must admit I found it so difficult to capture meaningful finger positions showing the action and tension of playing though. I hope it does reflect something of the skill of playing...

I am afraid I have no talent in that direction at all. I tried the descant recorder at junior school but failed to get past playing single notes. One followed by another, let alone a series, caused total finger and brain confusion!

In the playing sense I am! However, I do appreciate good music. Our friend playing here is a superb classical guitarist, although he can easily branch out into other musical genre just as easily!

I'd love to play an instrument like the guitar. Arguably, the guitar is the most sociable of all instruments, both playing for and with others. My wife and daughters in law all play the piano so I am well used to classical performances from time to time....

You've shown me the ukulele is a fun instrument but the softness of a guitar and its range still give it an edge for me. Great group though, I played through a selection on Youtube - my favourite was Pinball Wizard, which strangely doesn't use the instruments at all!

You're quite right, about the guitars range I think. But I do enjoy what can be done, in the right hands, with a uke. Recently I had guitar, banjo, uke and bodhrán players in my house. They'd never played together but it was awesome what they knocked out.

Our friend is really a classical guitarist. He gave us a private performance last weekend when he stayed. He also branched out into everything from blues and Eric Clapton, to Abba and pop. A very talented musician...
