Description
Ruki and Reita of Gazette, using backstage photos for reference.Graphite on drawing paper, and photoshop for curves.
I didn't know what to do with this, 'cause it's sketchy. Not that I think it's no good, it's just not the same as the rest of the stuff I've been putting in my gallery. xD; So I might move it to scraps later.

I totally don't mind multiple comments on the same piece (I do it all the time myself). Actually, it's really reassuring, 'cause if someone comments more than once, a few months apart or whatever, that proves they truly love the artwork, and it's not just a passing attraction. So, I really appreciate it.
Anyway. Yes. No question, if you keep practising, you'll improve. I'm convinced anyone can do as well as me, as long as they don't stop trying.
Nobody starts off perfect, and that's why I never delete the older stuff out of my gallery. You can see all my improvement (at least since I joined dA), and it's taken many years to get this far. So, as long as you're patient (and you can develop patience just like any other skill) then you could easily do something just like this a little later on.
So keep going.

When I first saw this, *in the smaller version* I thought it was a photo, so I thought "oh well I haven't seen this let's take a look-see..." Then I looked closer...dear gad. I nearly fell over when I realized that it was done in pencil. (Can you tell I usually don't read the details the artist leaves till AFTER I look at the picture? xB )
This is just how good your talent is--when your drawings done in pencil/graphite/etc. can be mistaken for photos? You've hit artist prestige. At least in my opinion. [no kiss -a$$ing intended. Just being serious]

Oh, there are a few pieces of others' that I've commented on more than once, just because... my love for the piece never waned, over the months or years, and I want to remind the artist there are people who've loved it ever since they first saw it. :3 So I completely understand. xD
I've always been surprised at the reactions I've gotten with this piece, but I guess a lot of the surprise (that it's a drawing) comes from the fact that (and I could be wrong) it's not the kind of thing people generally do draw as a picture, and when they do it's usually not intended to be photorealistic. It's usually sketchy, or rendered in hatching, or in one of a hundred techniques that show it's clearly a drawing.
Yeah, I always read the description after examining the image, as well. XD So I'm often surprised, but I think that's the way it should be.

Ahahahah, right, know what you mean. Yeah, I'm always really self-conscious about stuff like that. 'Cause you know some people will get the impression they can't talk to you like a person if all you have for them is hero-worship. So then you have to slip in a few mock insults, to show you realise they're just a person. But you have to guess which people are like that, and which will be extremely touchy if you give them a mock insult. =_=;

I need to start doing it. Most of the pictures I do the people I pick are always in boring poses, so backgrounds would always make them look better. I'm just lazy and i'm not one to go out of my way to do something extra.
But, you inspire me to do it! yours always look so good and accurate!

Thank you. A few different people have said that to me, and it's the main reason I've never deleted any of the older stuff that isn't up to my current standard. I feel better when I'm looking through someone's gallery, seeing things I wish I could do, and then looking earlier back and seeing things I could do. It makes it seem much more possible that I could share their skill level some day.
