Beautiful contrast between subject and colours A lot of people don't usually notice this, but the addition of brights and pales work very well in horror themed piece in contrast to a surrounded dark background It makes the viewer a lot more intensely focused on a focal point, allowing you the room to play tricks with their peripheral perception

P.S. I also noticed in the description that you have a bit of difficulty with blood? Use ink as an inspiration as they both have a very similar consistency Also remember that blood is initially soupy and rich like a dark cherry red, but it does dry out over time and so it crusts a little as it coagulates and it also thins too. This combined with the material or surface it is on will have a big effect on how it is to be portrayed If you are looking to smear blood be an object or limb, think about the points where pressure would be applied and why. Is a hand leaning against the wall or wiping? If so, where would the stain be most concentrated? The same is also said for spatters and impacts from a bloodied object/appendage
