Description
Just as the fiery phoenix rises from its own ashes, the calm water phoenix rises from the morning mist. Then it fades away with the afternoon heat to wait patiently for the sky to be painted with the next cool dawn.Watercolor paint, india ink, black pen, and colored pencil. Mixed media, yay!!!
At work near the shelf where the jar pickles are stocked i noticed a stain on the floor where pickle juice had presumably eaten away the wax on the floor. to me the stain looked like a bird wing, with water splashing off of it. In the end the painting looks nothing like what i had in mind, but i'm happy with it nonetheless.
The phoenix's wings are supposed to look transparent like water, but i don't think it's too noticeable.

I really love the colors in this and the way that you painted the fathers. It's always interesting to see phoenixes done in cool colors as opposed to warm colors as they are traditionally painted in.

Now this is absolutely stunning. I adore this one! I like that the colors aren't just 'in the lines' they are everywhere, but in a way that compliments this piece. And the shades of people with the hints of orange/yellow, very nice!

i guess i just wish there was more of that orange .. and maybe if you fixed the color balance so that the paper's more white then the colors would relaly pop

thanks. the only way to lighten it would be to shine brighter light on the paper, and then all the color would appear lighter and faded. (btw not a drawing)

i mean't the lineart.. lol
but you can lighten it using color balance in photoshop and that shouldn't affect the colors
rather it would look more vibrant.. not faded ._.
