Oh wow.. He's gorgeous... I love birds but this is so beautiful... My nickname is Hawk because when I was in 4th grade, everyday at recess a red-tailed would fly above me and follow me. This brings back some good memories, and it's a truly beautiful shot.

This hawk lives in a center dedicated to injured birds of prey, near Charlotte, North Carolina.
His left wing was injured badly and he can't fly anymore, but he doesn't suffer.

aww it is sad when that happens. It's like the periquin falcon that I saw...I would have taken it to the rescue center but I was on my way in the house for piano practice and we didn't have the stuff to take it there with

Yes; mostly I wouldnΒ΄t describe them as smiling, but I whenever I look at the base of the beak of this one, I think itΒ΄s smiling. Propably cause the corners of the beak are pointed slightly upwards. >.^
