this is my round2 tournament piece forthe subject was any x-men with a steampunk theme. anybody who follows me knows that x-men is what i do, but i have never been that familiar with the steampunk genre. so what i did was picture the x-men as if they were in final fantasy and that helped me alot with the designs.

i cant express how much i hate that character fantomex.i hate all the contributions that morrison ever made to the xmen.i wish he would have taken fatomex with him to dc.and deathlok just has never been my cup of tea.

dude i understand, I am one of the biggest Morrison haters out there. I haven't read one thing by hum that i liked.
fantomex may be the most unoriginal character ever created in comicdom; but the way the writer of x-force is handling him i kind of like it.
I never really read Deathlok stuff growing up and only know of him through the old Mavel trading cards.

I had to come back and re comment on how awesime the background here is. Earlier this morning i could only check it via crappy iphone, and it didn't do it justice. So when I got home adn could blow up that sentinel head it deserved a wow.
Your coloring is amazing.
I think the only thing (and its tiny) i'd criticize on this was I liked the stand alone psylocke so much. The sneak of her in B&W was amazing.

yeah she's been one of my fave X-Men since Jim Lee redesigned her. Always brought a great air of grace and mystery to the team.
Glad you did the stand alone piece too and posted it as a sneak. all the detailing in her was well worth its own slot.

cassie cain is by far the best looking design-wise of the Batgirls by far. And a little more edgy.

the only reason why i know the design is cus i recently had the amazing pleasure of discovering damion scott's art when someone said my work resembled his. dont know if he created that design but i know he had a run on batgirl when that design was used.needless to say that dude was sick! wish he would come to marvel..

Yeah...I wish a lot of things would come to Marvel.....I really miss the Portacio/Lee X-Men. When you grow up on that its just hard seeing where the team is at now.
was glad to see you were a fan of the AOA story arc too though. I loved some of the stuff they did in that.
Loved Scott's work on Batgirl....probably the sole reason I even gave it a shot in the first place. I'd like to think he designed it at least.
Your style to me is a great mash up of every decent X-artist, but without ripping any of them. And its got a really great kind of graffiti feel to it at times, just flows well. pleasure to see man.

the reason my art resembles all the great x artist of the past is cus they all taught me how to draw. i have never taken an art class in my life,and thats not a brag cus i would like to change that. i was always to much of a fuck up as a kid to get into any art schools and last yr when i was actually able to get accepted into the kubert school i wasnt able to attend for personal reasons. at first i used to draw like liefield than lee and than mad. than something just clicked and i started developing my own style.along the way i picked up alot more influences, and of course the graffiti element will always be there,well thats cus, thats what i was.subway train track's and all that!
you know portacio is actually having a run right now on uncanny x-men..

was never much of a Liefield fan....like they say, they guy was obsessed with pockets and pouches!! Why does deadpool have so many pockets in pointless places? LIEFIELD! But for along, long time those X-Books really supported the best artists in the medium so you had good stuff to influence you.
Thats cool to hear Portacio is back on the x-Books....might even get me reading again, although I hear they've done terrible things to that book writing wise.
I stopped on X-Books when they decided to give Wolverine a real name and an origin..that was just too much. Well that and Mojo. I always avoided any issue with Mojo. lol

dude lifield gets alot of hate, but how many comic artist can say that they have influenced a whole generation of artist? you can poke fun at his designs, but he created to very popular characters that look awesome and have standed the test of time,cable and deadpool. deadpool to me is still top 10 cool looking characters in comics.and what he needs all them pouches and pockets for?you ever read a deadpool comic?guns,grenades,knives,bullets for all his guns lol thats like asking why batman got all them pouches in his belt...
the only time i have ever stop reading xmen was when grant morrisson was writing his crap.i know that might be an unpopular opinion with all the newjack readers who think he is a god, but wow, i used to hate thoes stories so much i gave up comics all together. and only like 3yrs ago did i start reading again. since than i have caught up, and i still hate what he did to the xverse!

not really trying to bag on Liefield...as you said no denying the guys gave the world deadpool....just always think its a funny observation about the pouches 
I will agree with you on Morrison. I think he writes better with darker, more scuzzy independent characters. His runs on the big books just never really seemed to work. At least not for me.
I guess its like everything some artists and writers just mesh better with certain titles.
I might need to start picking it up again, but I've mostly gone to trades since its a more convenient way of grabbing whole arcs now.
