I swear there is NO editing here! (well, I won't lie, I cut the image to make it square).
I was preparing myself for a photoshoot, and after I painted one eye and put one of the contact lenses, I was like, 'woah, makes a difference'. Had never really realized until now. Pale perfect skin, blue feline eye, big lips. And then freckled face, brown eye, no eyelashes.
Bam, cleaned my right side and took a picture. Sweet.
Just look at what make-up can do.

I've always thought makeup hides true beauty and you pretty much represnt that in this picture. The beautiful real girl, versus the fake, to perfect to be true, porcilan doll. Very well done

To be honest I love the natural side. It looks more human. Although the right side looks awesome too. I just like how you look soft on the left side. Its beautiful.

I love this picture as it highlights make up as an art form. You can radically change an appearance with good make up. The point is not to say that natural is better, it's to highlight the possibilities that you can go with make up, and to also say that both sides have no problems with them. So put on that make up if you wish!

A lioness isn't worried about her appearance, a polar bear mother isn't occupied on her majesty, a female Humpback whale is worried about her size, so why do human women worry so much?
Do we try to hide from our "sins" our apparent "imperfections"...?

There is something we must appreciate in natural beauty, because even what many consider to be 'ugly' has vanity, in its own way. There is very little in this world that is not gorgeous in some way, simply because it exists.

I think make up is great when you're bored, I'm all for it and making it interesting, but your caption "Just look at what make-up can do" doesn't make sense to me atm

Brilliant! It exposes the reality of fashion photography. You can kick it up a notch though. The asymmetry in the lips is bothersome, and the shallow depth of field doesn't do justice to the message of the photography. Show us the whole face in focus. Experiment with different lighting and off camera flash. I'd try lighting it in a way to separate the face from the background.

Oh, please, says who? Actually, you'll find some of us wear it because we LIKE wearing it and truly enjoy it as much as we enjoy painting or drawing. Believe it or not, all women that wear makeup are not insecure and reliant on other people's validation of their appearance.
Who are you to tell women what to do with their faces? You don't have to like it, but don't insult a person's choice to do what she likes with cosmetics based on your narrowminded personal view of what is or isn't attractive. Clothes are ornamentation, are they not? It's no different than you wearing different types of clothing.

But I think makeup is awesome, regardless of who it's trying to impress. As long as someone is comfortable with both natural and with makeup, it is all good (in my book) and shouldn't be frowned upon.

I just can't respect the (nearly always) over use of makeup on females in my culture.
I prefer dirt. And scars. That shows character, experience, and hard work. Not two hours of brushing tints on your face.
Face paints are pretty cool though. Why can't those be popular..

I can tell my reaction : When i see your face with make up is art, the other part is your face real.
If you love it keep it, if you hate it take it away. Some day very soon bioengineering will give you that chance if you want, but never use surgery because it wont be harmonious with the rest of you.
