not to ask a magician his tricks, but how do you get the repetitious flowing lines? like in the hair or towards the bottom there...

the hair I did point by point..... the other lines I used the blend tool....distorting with those distortion tools from Illustrator..

Yes, it does remind me of a hood ornament (a.k.a radiator mascot), too. The most famous one being Rolls Royce's "Spirit of Ecstasy" .
Anyway, great work! And I would love to use it as basis for a cell phone theme.
