Awesome work! I like how the traces look so organic and natural, like if you had done it the traditional way, with pen and ink. I have a hard time trying to do this with Illustrator. Is easier using Flash.

I wonder if it's hard to do a lovely gradient in crayons on the pants

nah gradients are easy to do with crayon or pencils...just need patience.
