Description :la
It's finally time to breed two of my lineage morgans together I have already rolled for the gender, color and markings, and it wasn't what I wished for, but it's gonna be a heck of a cute pon! My first thought was that the foal was gonna go up for sales after I'd drawn some arts of it, but I've started my first sketch and heck.. I'm already starting to get attached to the cutiepie -.-'

The lineart where made traditionally with indian ink for more than a year ago..

They took of both horses halters. And off Audacity went, cantering straight to the other end of the pasture. Then she stopped and neighed back at the people and Aksel, who answered in a low frequency but stayed while demanding Brandons attention. Audacity trotted around the pasture and made sure every bush and rock where nothing else then what they claimed to be. Eventually she started grazing at the far end of the pasture. Aksel headbutted Brandon for scratches. Ania decided that it was best if they gave the horses som alone time, so they went to the bench outside of the pasture where they could see the whole pasture.
At first Aksel neighed towards them, but after a while he decided to go and check the mare out. When they where done, the mare wanted nothing else than peace and quiet, and she quickly became agitated by the stallion following her every move, and started serving kicks as a warning. So Brandon and Ania went back to separate Aksel from her, and as soon as he saw the humans approaching the gate, he trotted towards them.

Hm.. sometimes I look at references, especially for backgrounds in enviroments that are new for me. But mostly it's instinctive, I try to use many different colors in similar shades for coloring. I think it gives pictures the perfect blend of realism and fantasy feeling if you can find unexpected colors woven into it, especially in the shadings. I dunno rly, mostly I play around and try to make it feel right

It's an really interesting topic! How do you choose colors yourself? And how do you come up with all your different, beautiful backgrounds?!

Ohh I just absolutely love how you have shades of blue and pink in there That is just so awesome XDD

Hmm yeah mostly it's instinctive, sometimes I try out different types of shading, normally I try to take colors from the background to bring into the coat or something. I'm really trying to improve my color choice so I'm just experimenting I guess ^-^ and your color choice is seriously so inspiring!! How do you just choose unexpected colors? I just love that effect

My backgrounds? Hmm normally I just find a picture and blur it and put it in (normally I'm really lazy and I don't like drawing backgrounds XD) but if I do draw it... I guess it depends on my mood and what I want to get across (the same goes for colors in that sense). Or if I see something during the day that I think would look really cool I typically try to include it. Although many of my background drawings are for competitions where they explain what is in the background so X3

Also when you draw, do you normally make a lineart and then just start to shade? :3

well, lazy for the win

I've kind of learnt some colors that goes especially well in different situations, like green and yellows on grey horses, or the underside of the horse, but mostly I just experiment with the unusual colors. It's really fun, and adds a sense of experimenting when coloring. I love to throw myself out on the deep end and then try to "save it"...

And yeah, I usually start with the lineart and then start to color and shade, I find it much. I usually also draw over the lineart when I'm doing detail work, and then add new lines over the details. I do this almost all the time when it comes to eyes and muzzles.

Lazy is literally all I am XDD

Hahaha that sounds insane! I have tried that a couple times to do something crazy and then try to save it and it really pushed me. It wasn't really a bad feeling, it was just so time consuming haha maybe I'll try that again (now that I'm inspired by you hahaha). I also have this need to basically rush everything and if I work too long on the same piece I just get really frustrated n-n

Oooh I do that too! Except I don't really use lineart, just my sketch. I'm too impatient for lineart :'D

Thanks for sharing your artistic wisdom with me XDD
