Description Wool roving over pipe cleaner armature, air clay hooves and horn, glass bead eyes, August 2012. About 4" tall.

My second attempt at needle felting (the first was a bumblebee, and will not make it to dA)! He is a little bit derpy, but I learned a lot from him -- like, don't use pipe cleaners on things with spindly little legs and tail. And that I should maybe acquire a couple of thimbles. You'll probably be seeing more of this type of thing from me. I think I like it. Plus I have a boatload of roving still to use!

Beautiful, especially for a second attempt! I've never tried needle felting myself but it looks really fun. I love the old classic unicorns, with the lion-like tails and cloven hooves, and the pose you have this guy in is really lively. Very nicely done.

It is fun! He's somewhat posable, with the armature inside, but he does like to prance. Thanks!
