I have an entire fanfic dedicated to that guy lol. I'll have to make a reference sheet soon though. Enoki's kind of woven in to the canon plot since he was originally just a way to connect him to Akatsuki, but here's a quick and dirty rundown: He's the younger half-brother of Kakashi Hatake, conceived when Sakumo went to The Moon Village on a mission (this was sometime after Kakashi was born and his own mother had died) and fell for Enoki's mother.
Enoki's clan was a small one that raged a constant and ruthless war with a neighboring village, The Village Hidden in Rocks. Both had an alliance with one of the main villages: The Moon with Konoha and The Rock with The Mist. One night, around four years after Enoki's birth, the village was attacked at night by Mist and Rock ninja, and The Moon village was mostly destroyed before reinforcements could arrive. A small group survived - including Enoki and his mother, though she was fatally injured. Though the Kekkei-Genkei was usually reserved and passed through females of the clan, she transferred it to her young son so that it might live on. Reinforcements from Konoha arrived - which included Minato's team. They found the survivors. Sakumo had spoken of his young son, Kakashi, and Enoki's mother thought that it had to be fate which brought him here now. He gave Kakashi the young boy, telling Kakashi that Enoki was Sakumo's son - and thus Kakashi's brother - before dying. The group was soon after ambushed by more Rock ninja - the two surviving Moon Village ninja held them off, insisting that they leave with Enoki - who had to survive no matter what. Minato had no choice to pull out - it was impossible to protect four children and fight at the same time.
Enoki's clan is genetically blind - they give up their sight in order to gain a different sight - their Kekkei-Genkai (which takes a while to explain lol). Those in Konoha don't know this, however, and the blindness is blamed on an injury from the war that caused his clans demise. Growing up in this fashion, he was often shy and reserved. He had a strong desire to be a ninja but due to the lack of sight, he was denied entry into the academy. Enter: Itachi Uchiha. Itachi protected Enoki early on from bullying and, being an advanced ninja himself, helped Enoki to overcome several difficulties of being blind. With the combination of Kakashi and Itachi helping him, Enoki became strong enough using just his other senses - particularly hearing. He was put on a team with Itachi and a kunoichi named Hanako. When Itachi left, killing his clan, Enoki was finally able to activiate his Kekkei-Genkai. Using this ability, he was able to peer into the soul (it's complicated lol) of Itachi and realize the truth. From there, he joined Akatsuki, teaming up with Orochimaru. After Orochimaru tried to kill Itachi and is forced to leave, Enoki is put on the team with Itachi and Kisame. Lot of plot happens here, don't want to bore you anymore lol - but after Itachi's apparent death, Enoki returns to the hidden leaf village to fight along side his brother in the Shinobi war.

I like it x3 and I like the idea with becoming blind to be able to use the kekkei genkai! I also have a blind OC, who got a sharingan later, which is why he can see again with one eye at least.

He was born with an eye disease, which got worse and worse until he got completely blind. He wanted to commit suicide because of that but his best friend friend, who was an Uchiha, showed him how beautiful life still be. When Itachi murdered all the Uchihas, Rei found her nearly dead, but before she died she wanted him to have heft left sharingan (the right one was smashed), so that he can see again, although it's only with one eye.
And that sounds great!! Maybe we could do an AT or a collab with the two? x3

That sounds awesome! Their stories are surprisingly similar - both gradually lost their sight and then were taken in by Uchiha members - and their lives were flipped upside down because of the Uchiha Massacre. ^^ Awesome!
