Description
Boss! Sweden x Employee! ReaderGive me a kiss, please?
You knocked on the wooden door before turning the knob and walking into the mid-sized office. You boss, Mr. Berwald Oxenstierna, sat at his desk looking through paperwork. He looked up, his cold blue eyes meeting your (e/c) ones. For some reason, most employees found Mr. Oxenstierna very scary and intimidating, but after you had spent a week being his errand runner you found out he was a very nice man. He seemed emotionless but he was very kind and would do anything for anyone. Apparently the last worker here was employed for 2 days before she quit. Probably out of fear of her boss which she had to associate with every day. However, even if you were terrified of your boss, you would still keep your job. You need the money desperately and this was the only job you could find that paid more than minimum wage.
"_____, will you go get me some coffee, please?" Mr. Oxenstierna asked. "Yes, sir." You replied, walking out of the office and to the break room to get coffee for the blonde man. While in there you could hear the other workers talking amongst themselves. "Can you believe _____ is still working here? She must be brave." Someone said. "Or stupid." replied another one and the both of them burst out laughing. You decided you might as well let them know you were there. Laughing you turned to face them with Berwald's coffee in your hand. "Oh my, you guys are so funny. Oh! Did you hear about the two assholes in the break room? I heard Mr. Oxenstierna say that he was going to fire them. What a shame, huh?" And with that you left, leaving the men in a bit of panic. "Fired?! Crap! Did you hear that, Alex? I can't believe that stupid Mr. Oxenstierna is gonna fire us!" You heard Martin say as you left the break room. You laughed to yourself. And you were the stupid one? Why would they believe that in the first place?
You walked back to the office and knocked on the door, mainly out of habit, and opened the door before entering the room and closing the door behind you. You placed the coffee on Mr. Oxenstierna's desk as he typed away at his computer and sat in the chair designated to you as you waited for more orders. "Thank you." Berwald mumbled a little later. "You're welcome, Mr. Oxenstierna." You replied. You noticed he stopped typing and turned around to face you. "_____, can you take these down to Mr. Laurinaitis?" (That is Lithuania's last name) Berwald asked, holding up a folder filled with papers. You nodded and stood to grab the folder. "Yes, Mr. Berwald." You said and took the folder from him before exiting the room for a second time.
You had learned the building well in your short time here. It wasn't overly large but it was big enough to be able to get a little lost if you didn't know the place at all. Luckily though, you knew where Toris' office was. You navigated the hallways like you had worked here for years. Soon enough you reached Mr. Laurinaitis' office and you gently knocked on the door. "Come in." Came the man's voice and you entered the room. You put on a small, polite smile and handed him the documents. "Mr. Oxenstierna asked me to give these to you." You said. "Thank you very much." Mr. Laurinaitis replied, giving you a smile. You nodded and left the room, closing the door behind you.
The rest of the day was rather similar. Sit in your chair and wait for Berwald to give you directions as of what to do for him. It was really that bad of a job. You couldn't understand why so many people had quit. If they had just stayed for a little while longer they would have realized that Mr. Oxenstierna is a really nice man. But then again, if they had stayed, you wouldn't have your job now. So all in all, you were content with the way things had worked out. At least things were working out for you. Right? Right.
Several weeks later~
"Hey Berwald." You said smiling as you opened the door. You didn't even bother to knock anymore and you already had your boss' coffee in your hand. "Hello _____." Berwald replied, not looking up from the computer screen. You placed the coffee down on his desk and walked over to your chair to wait for instructions. You and your boss were more friends now than anything. It wasn't like the typical relationship between a boss and his employee. Berwald and you would actually have friendly conversations every day and you would find yourself smiling most of your time in his office. He would put on a small smile on rare occasions though you knew that was only because he didn't like to show much emotion.
You felt like you could tell what he was feeling by his body language. There was also a hint in his eyes from time to time. Like if he was angry, there would be a spark of it in his eyes, though it took a good eye to notice. It seemed as though it was almost as clear as day to you though. At first it had been a little difficult to pick up, but as your days working with Berwald went on, you found yourself understanding more and more about him.
You felt as if he was lonely most of the time. You had learned that he lived alone and that both of his parents were dead and that his few living relatives lived far away. He didn't have many friends due to his intimidating appearance, which you could understand. In your first few days you had been a bit intimidated yourself. All in all, you felt like he needed someone to be his friend. So why shouldn't that friend be you? However, even though you tried to ignore it, you could still feel yourself being pulled toward that feeling. You understood well enough what it was and you tried your best to avoid it as much as possible. That feeling was love.
You had begun to notice it about a week ago when you walked into the office. Berwald wasn't in there yet and you felt a sense of disappointment, sadness, and a bit of panic. However, he had entered almost seconds behind you and you had jumped, almost dropping the coffee you held. When you saw Berwald you felt a sense of relief and a warm feeling that you had felt before. You barely recognized it, but it was that feeling that you had toward your previous boyfriends from years ago. On the inside you had begun to panic, but on the outside you didn't let that show.
Now you were here, one week later, feeling yourself loosing the willpower ever so slowly to ignore this feeling. It has grown and at a rather alarming rate. You found yourself blushing when he looked at your or spoke to you. You knew this wasn't good. He would find out before long if this kept up. You just hoped he wouldn't notice or didn't care. But then again, wouldn't he find it weird that an employee like him? Would he fire you for such a thing? No. He was too nice to do that. Wasn't he?
"_____." Berwald said not looking up from the files in his hands. "Yes?" You asked, standing and walking over to him. "Do you need me to do something?" You asked. There was a long period of silence. Millions of thoughts were racing through your mind. This never happened. Something had to be wrong. Maybe he found out you liked him! Now what were you going to do? Wait… maybe he was just contemplating something. He would hesitate sometimes. However, his hesitation had never lasted this long. Something had to be up.
"Berwald?" You asked. Were you nervous? Of course. Your boss had possibly found out your secret and he was acting strange. You were a little worried to say the least. "I want you to do something for me." Berwald said. Relief suddenly filled your body. Just more instructions. Thank god. Berwald placed the files down and turned to face you. "What is it?" You asked. More silence. He was hesitating again and his eyes just stared into yours as if determining something. "Give me a kiss."
Your system shut down. A what? There was no way he just asked that. Perhaps you heard wrong? "Could you repeat that?" You asked, blushing crazily. A slight hesitation before the words met your ears again. "Give me a kiss." You were frozen in place, a blush strewn across your face as you looked down at your boss. (Remember, he is sitting, you are standing!) Well… your job was to follow your boss' orders. This was still and instruction you had to follow due to your job! You told yourself this as you leaned down, inching yourself closer to your boss' face. Ok… don't be nervous. You thought as you leaned in the rest of the way, closing your eyes in the process.
Your lips connected and you felt a surge of something you had never felt before. You loved this feeling. Sure you had kissed before, but never had you felt such a wonderful reaction. You didn't want this moment to end, but thinking that Berwald might think it's odd that you aren't pulling away, you reluctantly pulled back. Your eyes locked with blue ones. "Do you not like me?" Berwald asked. It was sudden, and to the point. Like always. Maybe it was time to finally stop holding back your ever growing feelings. But what if this was just a test? However, you didn't believe Berwald would be the type to go through this just for a test. "I like you." You said bluntly, feeling a little odd telling that to your boss.
Berwald didn't say a word, he just simply stood and pulled you into a hug. Maybe that was his way of telling you that he liked you as well. You hugged him back, not sure what else to really do. "I like you, _____." He said, quieter than normal. You smiled. "I like you too, Berwald."
~One year later~
You were in the break room, getting your boss' coffee like you did every morning. "Did you hear? That _____ chick is getting married to Mr. Oxenstierna!" Alex whispered in a voice that you managed to hear. "Holy crap! Maybe she's smarter than I thought…" Martin whispered back to Alex. You finished preparing the coffee and turned around to face them. "You know, you guys really need to learn to whisper better." You said. The looked at you, their faces holding a slight blush of embarrassment as you exited the room and made your way down the hall towards your boss' office.
You opened the door and found your fiancé typing away at his computer, business as usual. "Hey." You said with a smile as you walked over to place the coffee on Berwald's desk. Berwald turned to face you as you gave him a kiss before taking you seat. Your morning schedule was almost completed. There was just one more thing. "I love you, Berwald." You said, sitting back in your chair as he placed papers in a folder. He held it out to you and you stood up instantly and grabbed the folder. "I love you too, _____." Berwald said. "Can you take this to Mr. Laurinaitis?" He asked. You smiled. "You bet."
