Description I really wanted to get back to painting after visting Warhammer World last month.
So I decided to quickly finish off these MDF containers that I assembled a little while ago.
All the containers are seperate, I did not glue them together. (I just stacked them for the photo.)
I'm really happy with the end result and they will look great on the tabletop.

The mdf kit is from TTCombat, 2 of them came from the same kit as the mdf ruins I built and painted.
But since 2 isn't much to work with on a tabletop, I bought some extra.
I only added coffee stir sticks to the corners to hid the joints and add a bit of character.

I'll probably buy more containers in the future, but from other companies.
Not that these are bad, but I'd like a random bunch of containers to work with on the field.

Thanks! Here's the best explanation I can give sinceΒ I used common acrylic paints.

To paint the overall colour I used a sponge to stamp/stipple it on, to not clog any details.
First I mixed the red and blue with a little black for a dark base coat.
Then add more pure red and blue for a lighter, but not bright, second coat.
After that I basecoated the metal latches/handles black and gave them a silver drybrush.
The numbers are just freehanded on with plain white paint.
The skull symbol was already etched in the MDF, I just painted it with black and white.

To dirty up the containers I first watered down some brown paint with a little black.
Smeared the brown in the recesses and dabbed off the excess with some paper towel.
To add more contrast to the deeper creases I painted in watered down black and smudged with my finger.
As final touch to give them a used beat-up look I drybrushed some silver on the edges.

A simple but effective way to paint containers if you ask me.
