Turns out that the annoying golden guard pestering you and your friends is totally helpless without his staff. Also turns out that he's a teenage boy, and a cute one too. Your show is ending sooner than you thought, so there's no time for character arcs. The next time your paths cross, you snatch him up and give him the herbaceous tickling of his life. Your plants love his squeals as they rip away his handknit socks and dig into his roots. You find that he can squeal for hours, laughter ringing through the courtyard as the vines scribble under his toes. The lines blur between justice and indulgence, torment and play. You'd show him mercy, but it's all simply too adorable to stop, and he's too busy cackling rapturously to argue. Whether he renounces his mischief or not, you've decided this is a better way for the guard of golden laughter to spend his days anyway.
