Description
Lots of fun making this one. I bought Dream Drop Distance a few weeks ago and got the idea to turn the Mane six into Keyblade wielders. Whether or not I will get around to the rest of the Mane six is yet to be seen but I would love to do so, now if my sporadic artistic tendencies will let me I can't sayShout out to Square Enix, Hasbro, and the lovely Lauren Faust for giving me the inspiration to make this piece.

I think this is my favorite human version of Twilight---her hair and outfit is amazing, and I like how unique the keyblade looks. I love it.

Since you're coming up with these great designs, here's another idea for ya.... what about RWBY'fied mane six, including custom weapons to go with them?^^

But I have to finish the mane six with Keyblades first...and I have been AWOL for the past 2/3 months, and not on purpose. T_T
I like your idea but I'm spread to thin the way it is as of now. I might take up the challenge in the future, but I don't see that happening for a while at least.
Which urks me to no end because now I REALLY want to draw the mane six RWBYfied!

lol Well, as they say, better late than never, eh? XD And though you can't get to drawing them yet, doesn't mean you can't brainstorm about such, eh?^_^

As such, with such brainstorming, what fighting styles/weapons(or even semblances) do you think they'd have?^^

Whatever I decide on them (if I ever get around to them) you can bet that they would be fitting for each of their personalities. I would like to brainstorm on them a bit but with classes just a few short weeks away my attention is diverted elsewhere.

Understandable. Worries about the future, eh? But, they're in the future, and you can still brainstorm in the present, if you feel up to it.^_^

I guess you can say that. I've sort of been distracted as of late keeping me from personal projects.
Not to say what I am doing isn't a personal project, it is just geared a little more to my career path.
I've found some time to work on the next Keyblade of Harmony but it is still a ways away from completion.
Although it is still a ways away from being finished, and with classes just around the corner my hiatus may be unfortunately extended. ^.^"

Ah. That's understandable. School can be quite the pain. But better late than never, eh?^^
On a good note though, at least the RWBY series is showing more possibilities with semblances. Should provide more inspiration for that once you get to that, eh?^^
Oh, by the way, in regards to Keyblades, their fighting styles would likely differ there, too, eh? At least in terms of specialties and whatnot.^_^

Yup!
Twilight would be more magic focused (casting spells and whatnot).
Rainbow Dash's combat style would be aerial based (air combos).
And Apple Jack would be a heavy hitter (slower attacks but more damage).
At least that is how it works in my head ^.^

Yep.^^ Bet Fluttershy's would be more counterattack oriented. Rarity.... likely projectiles summoning, like an upgraded Wisdom variant. And Pinkie.... likely attacks that'd move her all over the place. XD

Kind of sort of.
I'm still iffy on Fluttershy's design but you pretty much got Rarity and Pinkie right.
Rarity would be more close combat magic and Pinkie Pie will be Pinkie Pie ^.^
Maybe have her be dedicated Free Flow combat.

lol Yeah, that'd fit Pinkie well.^^
Hmm... perhaps Fluttershy could mix counterattacking with summoning of magical Keyblades of Light that act like summoned creatures to battle with.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. This is fascinatingly well-made. Could I possibly use this as the cover art for a story I`m writing?

I'm glad you like it! I don't mind if you use this as your cover as long as I am credited, and thank you for asking.

Well, humanized ponies are still alive, with their new relative, Equestria Girls. Stupid Twilicorn haters think EqG killed them.

cool thanks. I was wondering how you get that cool shading effect with the brushes. What did you do for brighter purples mixing with darker ones on twilight?

CrosmirSketch In reply to artmagetommy [2013-11-12 13:14:32 +0000 UTC]
I usually start off with a base color then create "highlight" and "shading" clipping masks adding lighter and darker colors respectively. I should note that I always put my "highlight" clipping mask above my "shading" one. Next I take the smudge tool and soften the edges of the clipping mask to make it blend with the base color. This next part is my personal flavor, but I then make a backup of all the layers (in case I want to change something later) and merge the original layers clipping masks and all. I then use the dodge tool on the highlights and burn tool on the shading to get more of a contrast between the two.
I hope I explained that well enough.
