Yea, i watch some Anime of Ladybug, it rocks.
Like i say before...Mariennete, Ladybug, will fall over heels over the Blue Beetle, not just cause of his powers, but also for his Heroic Duties and noble heart.
Can you imagine if by some miracle or accident, Mariennete would obtain the powers of the Blue Beetle? She would be a force to be recken with. No Akuma would be able to face her. Even her arch-foe Hawk moth would be afraid of her.
And Chat...he would be sooooo jealous of the Blue Beetle. Cause he doesnt have any powers, where the Blue Beetle has...even more when he sees Ladybug flirting with him. Then he confront him;
-"Listen here you poser. I am Ladybug partner, not you. What makes you so special HUH? What abilities do you have?"
-"Um, lets see...i have Plasma Blades, Plasma Lasers, I can fly, up to Mach 5. Can create Energy Shields to stop Bullets, even a Missile. Have strengt to lift up things up to 3 tons...."-
After 30 minutes of telling his powers...
-"...a sonic disrapter. Energy Canons. Yea, thats what i have. What about you! Whats your special powers?"
Poor Chat, he's so shock and awe that he feels like he's shrinking. He cannot compete against that.
-"Um...i have the Cataclysm, which let me destroy stuffs with my, um...Claws"
Meanwhile, Mariennete, after hearing all that Blue Beetle can do, she blush hard and thinks...-"I think i'm in love"-

Funny you mention that! I was thinking of making a power swap of ladybug in armor and blue beetle with a tikki-like creature beside him... probably called "kaji da" as thats the name of the beetle amulet in the comics (also dan garret´s "battlecry" back in the 1940´s)
Also: The thing with Jaime is that he is a latino fella with a good heart.. he is also a minority and have that desire of proving himself.
In the comics he doesn´t have that much of a secret identity because his father, mother, little sister, abuela and friends, all know of his powers... and support him in the way family and friends normaly do.
you can almost hear his grandmother saying to his nieto out loud: "she looks like a nice girl, you should ask her out" right in front of marinette, the way cute abuelas do

I've just recently began to watch that Anime of Ladybug, and love it.
Move over Chat Noir, you just being replace by a REAL hero, with REAL POWERS. You aint nothing on the Blue Beetle.
Mariennete has just found her Soul Mate and perfect Crime fighter. With him by her side, there's no Akuma she cannot handle.
Hackmont better watch out...for theres a new Bug in town...a Blue Beetle.

I do think they both have a lot in common... being two bug based superheroes that get pretty much everything of their superheroe status from their "magical" amulet.... and I say "magical" because the blue beetle amulet used to be consider this beforebeing exposed as alien tech... and as for Tikki, marinette´s mentor we really don´t know where she comes from and her existence may be considered magic but may as well be some kind of ancient tech O.o
Still the red and blue romance feel very organic when you think about it.
